I Was A Useless Friend

I grasp her arm,
Viewing the deep gash.
She said she wouldn't
Do anything rash.

But she broke her promise,
She lied to my face.
She's been shattered,
Like a broken vase.

But now she's gone.
She was my very best friend.
For her,
I was supposed to defend.

But she told me nothing,
Except a childish lie.
I never thought,
I would have to say goodbye.
