Homesick

Lance explains

"Because my family is poor,very poor. Before the garrison I was working 3 part time jobs,and my older siblings and cousins were working 1 each. The adults all had full time jobs except for my mom,who took care of some stuff around the house. While she did errends I was in charge of taking care of the little kids,siblings and cousins,while doing my part time jobs...that's how badly we needed money,we couldn't get a babysitter and we all had to work. I was the youngest one working." Lance says
"Why did you have 3 and he others only have 1?" Keith asked
"They were all either in their last year of highschool or in college so they were busier than I was. I started working when I was 14 and kept working until I went to the garrison." Lance was about to continue when keith interrupted him
"Wait,how did you get into the garrison. If I remember correctly,it cost a lot to get in and then you had to get your books and junk." Keith asked
"I got a scholarship." Lance said
"Your joking right? You,getting a scholarship to the garrison? Tell me the real reason" keith said
Lance looked down at the ground "I'm really not joking. I really did get a scholarship. There's no other way I could have gotten in" lance said
"Then it must of been out of pity. Only the smartest got scholarships." Keith said
"What makes you think I'm not smart?" Lance asked
"Everything. Your mess around all the time and was the bottom of our class." Keith said
"Yeah I was,but when you left my grades went up, and I was close to the top of our class,I was also given your spot when you left. You can ask Pidge and hunk" lance said
"I think I " keith said
"Alright,anymore questions?" Lance said
"Yeah,why didn't your mom take your siblings out when she went on errands" keith asked
"Ok so take my energy level..and multiply it by 20. And theirs your answer" lance said
"That's frightening" keith said
"Exactly my point. And I was in charge of them because everyone else was busy" lance answered
