"You are  under arrest."

I could remember the clinking of metal as the handcuffs securely linked your wrists together.

I could remember the tears falling down your cheeks as they pulled you to the police car closer.

I could remember the piercing glare you gave me as the distance between us grew.

I could remember the shrill of your voice as you shouted to me, "I hate you."

"I hate you!" you said once again, but I refused to meet your eyes filled with hatred. "You betrayed me! You betrayed me!" That's what you kept on saying.

But with the guilt, anger, and madness you've caused me, I knew this was the right thing to do. Eventually, I looked up to your disappointed eyes and said,

"You deserve it so much."
