It's been almost an entire week since the practice that sent Camriegh to the hospital and she still hasn't been in school or at practice.  It honestly scared me when she passed out like that. I didn't know asthma could do that to you but, I guess when you can't get enough air into your lungs it takes a toll on your entire body.

I saw Camriegh drop to the ground and Hannah rushing over to get her inhaler.

"Where is her bag?!?"

"SHIT!"

"She forgot her bag I need the med kit!"

My dad ran over to the shed and grabbed out the med kit and Hannah rifled through it trying to find the inhaler. She found it and then rushed to Camriegh.

I saw Camriegh's eyes close and Hannah was freaking out.

"Someone call 9-1-1!"

Hannah was sitting on the ground with a limp Camreigh draped over her body. Trying to get the inhaler to do it's job. Her breathing was shallow but, I could still see her chest rising and falling so she was still alive.

My dad had called 9-1-1 and then called her parents to let them know what was going on. "Yeah she'll be taken to Mercy West I believe," I overheard him talking to them. "I will ask the paramedics when they arrive."

As if on cue, I heard sirens getting louder as they approached the practice field.  I saw the ambulance down the hill and waved the paramedics up to us.  They ran up the hill carrying a stretcher and an oxygen tank.  "She has asthma. She forgot her inhaler." Hannah was still freaking out which I took as this doesn't happen too often.

"What hospital will she be taken to so I can inform her parents?"

"Mercy West," one of them answered before they got to work on Camreigh.

"Hannah back up and let the paramedics do their job," my dad stated after a few minutes because he thought she was interfering with them.  She turned around and glared at him as though he was the worst person on the planet. She backed up, nonetheless.

They placed Camriegh on a stretcher and put an oxygen mask on her face to help her breathing.  Hannah was by her side the entire time. She interlaced their fingers and ran her other hand through Camriegh's hair. You could just sense the love between the 2 of them which I envied.

"Cam calm down babe," Hannah said as Camriegh was trying to rip off the oxygen mask.  "I'm fine," she croaked out weakly.  "You aren't fine Cam. We're going to the hospital."

The paramedics carried her down the hill and Hannah followed close by.  Camriegh shot a look at Hannah.  "I'm not going anywhere," she said with a smile, walking beside them. Camreigh waved to us prior to them bringing her into the ambulance.  Hannah waved and got in afterward.

"Okay girls we are ending practice. I will see you all tomorrow."

My dad had felt terrible about what happened to Camriegh. He hadn't said anything but, I could sense it. He's been pretty lenient on all of us in practice since then as well.  I mean it's not his fault that she had an asthma attack. If she would've just spoken up my dad would of let her take a break.

He was mad when another parent called informing him about Jameson's party but, he wasn't unreasonable. Especially since her asthma seemed like it was a life or death situation. Obviously it was life or death after what happened.

Hannah had reassured us though that Camriegh was fine. She was at home after being in the hospital for 2 days so, they could run tests and see what they could do for her. "I guess drinking may have had something to do with it as well," Hannah added, as we all sat in the locker room before practice on Wednesday.
