As he put the cold shackles around my wrists, I can't help but think how much I would miss this place. Bowing my head, I got into the back of the police car without a fight. I didn't belong here, my conception hadn't been approved by the mayor, instead I was made because my mother illegally fell in love. Next thing she knew she had me, and my mother had to go on the run. Growing up on the streets I was quick to pick up the ins and outs on how to survive under the radar, so when the police found us 7 years ago and killed my mother, as much as it hurt I knew I could make it on my own.

Staring out the window as the car started to drive, and feeling the metal of the handcuffs digging into my back, the truth finally set in. This was really happening. I am leaving behind everything and everyone I've ever known all because I wasn't born as a twin. If that had at least happened, even if my parents being together hadn't been approved of, at least then my mom might still be alive, and we would all be living here together. Instead, I'm 19 years old and riding in a police car with no clue as to where I'm going. "Hey, Jack, do you think we'll be safe wherever we end up?"

"I don't know Jess, but I hope so" he calls back to me from the driver's seat.

Dedicated to Skipper_019 I know it's a late entry, but just in case
