"Kara.. what have you gotten yourself into?"

I looked up at my fathers face, sad, almost disappointed.

"I'm sorry, daddy,"

He stretched his hand out and I placed mine in his.

"It's okay, everything will be alright now,".

Josh's point of view.

I woke up next to Kara the next morning, so still and peaceful. I wanted every morning to be like this, to wake up next to her.

Suddenly I remebered Skylar and woke Kara up.

"What time is it..?" She asked, her voice groggy.

"It's almost nine, we have to pick Rae up." I could tell last night flooded her head as quickly as it had mine, she quickly got out of bed and got ready.

We drove over to Rae's friends house as fast as we could without getting pulled over. She was mad I picked her up so early but I didn't want her to be alone.

"Do you want me to drop you off at your house,?" I asked Kara who stared out of the car window, something on her mind. She seemed worried, probably for the same reasons I was.

"No, it's okay," She said with a small smile that made me smile back at her.

"What?" She asked.

"I just love your smile," She blushed and looked away.

Rae let out a long sigh from the back seat and I saw her cross her arms in the rear view mirror.

"What's wrong, Rae?" I asked her, but she stayed silent.

"Rae, are you still mad at him?" Kara turned around in her seat to face her. Rae nodded her head and I instantly felt horrible.

""You shouldn't be, he's only doing it to protect you, you know he would never want to make you unhappy. Your brother loves you," Kara told her.

"I know..".

"Now can I see a big smile and tell your brother you love him," Kara told her, letting out a small laugh. I looked in the rear view mirror to see Rae smile, her mouth missing a few teeth but still perfect.

"I love you..." She groaned, trying not to laugh.

"Love you too, Rae. Maybe we can do something fun later, anything you want to do," Her face lit up and I knew she was thinking of an amusement park not too far from Ridgeway. I took her there for the first time a couple years ago, and I don't think I've ever seen her so happy. We didn't get to go a lot though because of the costs, but seeing her happy was priceless.

Sure enough, a few hours later we were driving to the amuesment park, Rae sat in the backseat giddy and giggling. When we got there she wanted to ride her favorite ride, and then four more times. The lines were surprisingly short so we got a lot of riding in.

"Josh im getting hungry," Rae whined.

"Alright, we can get something to eat," We headed to the consession stands and foudn a table.

"I'll get in line, you can wait here and save the table," I told Kara and Rae after they told me what they wanted. I got in the line for burgers and thought about Skylar. Maybe it was time we told the police, my uncle wasn't there so things might be easier now. But would Skylar actually do anything, sure he's a little off but would he kill anyone.

"Hello?!" I snapped out of my thoughts as the cashier waved a han in front of me.

"Oh, s-sorry. Just three cheeseburgers," He shook his head and gave me my total.
