This is an extra description:
Suri Ima, our main character, was placed into the foster system as soon as she turned 15. Her mother was a sceptic and was always told that a child after 15 was no good, and you have to leave them on their own. Her family was messed up, her father was in jail for raping her sister, her mother was half way around the world and her sister had hung herself in a tree in a church yard after being told being impregnated by her rapist father was a sin and it was her fault. She was all alone. She always leaves her foster home in the countryside to run through fields and one day she finds a run down house, it would have been beautiful when it was first built, but now it was reduced to unstable floors and crumbling walls. On the top floor there is a hallway. This hallway had doors that once lead to rooms that are now reduced to dust, the special thing about these doors is that they are painted a soft lavender colour.
She always wakes up at 2:34 in the morning and looks out her window to see the old house in the horizon, perfectly restored, and watches it crumble to its now run-down state. By 2:40 she is back asleep and dreaming of those lavender painted doors opening, revealing beautiful furniture and white satin curtains blowing in the wind. After cutting her hand on one of the doors, her foster home transforms into the old house, fully restored to its once natural beauty, with a large family living inside. Mia Nalema is the wife of Marc Nalema, who have five children. The eldest being Julia Nalema, followed shortly by one year, her brother Jacob Nalema. Three years later come the twins, Layla and Naveen Nalema. The youngest child, lavender, comes another year later and claims the last room in the hallway of lavender doors. When Suri pricks her finger, she goes back in time, and watches the family in the midst of WW1. The problem is, no one can see her, except for Lavender. When she needs help, she recruits a five year old and the many figures that reside in the shadows. Her help are her life line, but not all of them want to save her.
