I wake up and realize today is the day that EJ moves back. He has already graduated high school.

'Oh,' I think, 'I forgot to ask him about college.'

I get up and get dressed for school. As I walked out the door I hear a text notification...then I hear another.

I got a text from EJ first and the same text from Jack.

Can I drive u to school? ❤️

Oh god. If I say no to Jack he'll probably be aggravated. If I say no to EJ...nothing will happen but I haven't seen him in a year. And we barely talked during that time frame so...

I text EJ back and say yes. I text jack back and lie a tiny smudge saying it's ok, EJ already offered yesterday.

I'll see Jack at school anyway. It's not a big deal at all and I don't know why I'm making it one. I shake my head dismissing the thought and already see EJ'a car outside.

I giggle, "How did you know I would say yes. I could have had another ride..."

"Just get in girl," he says.

I hop in. He drives me to school. Before I get out I ask, "Look EJ, I really really want you to meet my boyfriend since my dad can't an-"

"Of course babes," he says, "when are you guys free?"

"Tonight, if that's ok," I smile brightly.

"K, love ya," he says back as he drives away.

"Love ya," I shout back.

I walk into school and see Jack leaned against my locker.

"Hey babygirl," he says suddenly kissing my forehead.

"You cool?" I ask.

"Yeah, of course," he says almost in a confused tone.

"Ok," I say while grabbing my books and facing Jack, "I hope you're free tonight because I asked EJ if he could meet you."

"You seem excited so...yeah I'll come. Where, though?" he asks.

"Ummm...well I have a couple bucks so I think we could go out I-I..." I trail off digging through my purse. Now I was getting worried.

"I got it," Jack says grabbing my shoulders calming me down.

"I can't le-"

"Yes you can because I want to," he cuts me off.

"I'm sorry," I say looking down.

"For what," he chuckles.

"For being broke all the time. For not putting in effort to do nice things for us. For just being a-I don't know," I say.

"Oh my gosh Hanna...you think to much!" he laughs.

I look up confused. He then wraps his arm around my waist and walks me to class with a smile on my face.
