A child's cry, one could say it was the most beautiful sound an individual could listen to. It symbolized birth, the very recreation of life through an individual who is already in the prime state of their own life. Others say it is the most annoying sound, a cause of weakness, showing they break down when they don't get what they want. Were children any different than those who complain life is unfair? No, not in the slightest.

There, in the kingdom's medicinal structure, on a lone table in a lowly lit, quiet room, lay a woman. Screams were being cast, as if someone were being murdered in cold blood, though, this was a day for happiness. A hand grasped the woman's, ensuring that she knew there was someone there with her to keep her company from the exasperating pain she felt in her lower regions. It felt like her bones would shatter, like her insides were burning, like an earthquake was tearing apart her body from the inside out. There were many doctors assisting with the procedure. . .half working on the woman, the other half fetching resources to make sure she stayed stable, and healthy during the procedure. Needless to say, there was a sum of problems going on. There was no technology to help assist with surgeries and things of that sort, so everything was done by hand and practiced with the utmost caution, less something terrible were to happen.

The woman spoke out to her love, who was cloaked in light armor, helmet removed, and hand firm onto hers.

"D-Darling, the pain inside me seethes with rage! I-I do not know how much more I can handle this pressure!" She exclaimed. Her voice was ravaged with a mix of fear and determination all at once. There was no going back on this event, not now that it was so close to becoming complete.

Her husband was next to speak, however his tone was calm, yet understanding of her pain, and so he would address her with that tone with the intent of easing her pain with such communication.

"My lovely wife, you must not allow the fear to control you, focus on me, look into my eyes, and know I am here for you. Think of the future, and what it will be like when this pain subsides. All the enjoyable times we will have together as a proper family. The money we will have to live a normal life without the fear of death haunting us. Know that you will always have someone to rely on, for so long as I live, I will support you to no end."

His words eased her pain, just as he had intended to do. She listened closely to his words, and did as instructed. She looked into those bright blue, almost turquoise eyes, and began to think of the love they will have with their child, be it male or female. Sitting together on the bed, all three of them, playing with their child so they wold build a playful personality. They would tell stories of the history, not just of their worlds, but of their own. Those who forget history tend to repeat it, yet somehow they knew their history, everyone did, and yet still. . .they fought just as they had in the past. This family knew better than to try and make things difficult for others if it meant bettering themselves, but the soon-to-be father did not fight in this war for vengeance, nor ambition, but for defense and rights. For you see, they weren't born into a wealthy family, neither of them were. The man fought in this war to receive rights and income from the main ruler. So long as he fought, they were under the special care provided to all knights. . .

Suddenly, the woman began to scream out in pain once again, even louder this time, squeezing her lover's hand so hard, he could swear she could use her grip as a weapon of war, he could even feel her grip through all of the armor. Be it through the source of the current pain or other reasons, this was the reason he never intended to run his miles around her bad side. The doctors were rushing over to her, inspecting what the issue was. . .and to their surprise, it was time. The head medical doctor began moving his hands frantically for the necessary tools to perform such an intense procedure, his lips moving at just the same speed.

"Everyone get ready! Get the supplies! Make sure she doesn't move! This is it!" The doctor shouted, yelling at his assistants as if he was assigning them positions in battle.

There was mass chaos in the room, the husband was holding onto his wife's hand with all the strength he could. He kept repeating his words over and over again so she could focus.

"On me! Keep yours eyes affixed to me! Everything will be over soon!" He reassured her, though to no avail. She was like a wild animal, needing every assistant in that room to hold her down while the head doctor performed the birthing experience. Screams bounced off the walls, like a banshee wailing into the dead of night. The doctor's eyes were focused, moving quickly and efficiently with each incision. The more he cut, the more the woman fought and screamed, he only wished he could make it less painful. After was felt like hours, the woman's screams weren't the only thing yelling out in the room, as the doctor lifted his arms. . .the infant was out. The cries were like church bells calling for the knights to lead them back to safety, and it's body was like fresh water to the scavengers all those years ago. The father was the first to grab a hold of the child, but he did not possess it for long. He quickly transferred the crying child to the woman he loved so dearly, who was looking with tear-filled eyes. It was over, and the new life of theirs would begin. . .that's all she could think about as of that moment.

She cuddled the baby into her chest, applying very little pressure as to not harm it. She was hurting so much, and yet she couldn't tear her eyes off of the little bundle of joy in her arms. . .and neither could the father.

"Honey, it is done. You are a mother now. . .and I, a father, to a healthy. . .baby girl."

The woman was far too meek to respond as of the moment, she simply was too caught up in a web of emotions that she couldn't bare to attempt vocal communication. She just wanted to cry to no end along with her newborn.

The husband, now content with what was happening, stood up and smiled, nodding towards the doctor. . .and seeing his way out of the room with him. They had matters to discuss now, and to say that his lover, needed alone time was an understatement. . .and he was going to give that to her, for she had performed a great deed.
