Would it hurt Caroline and Bonnie if I told them?

Elena's happiness knew no bounds ever since Damon proposed to her. She was on cloud nine and the only thing that could complete her happiness was telling the good news to her. The news that Damon finally gave her the happiness she needed. He gave her a chance at a human life with the man she loved; a chance to have a family, a chance to have kids, a chance to grow old and die happily. Her best friends ; the friends that were by her side always, be it happiness or sadness and so they needed to know this as well.

Soon it was evening and Elena was going to visit Care and Bonnie at Bonnie's house. She was also getting ready to tell her besties that the love of her life had just given her biggest happiness of her life. " Bonnie and Care are just gonna be so elated when they hear about this. And Care is definitely gonna want to be in charge of the decorations for the ceremony!" She thought and burst out into a giggle. Damon was just beside her and asked what was she thinking about. She replied saying that it wasn't important. Then she felt a man, wait, 'the man', the man she loved hugging her from behind. With both his hand on Elena's stomach and his he as d resting on her right shoulder,he said," Well whatever it is, it made my girl smile so it IS important. God I missed this smile! " Elena turned around and gave him a kiss on his forehead and smiled.

"OK now lemme go. I need to get ready and go visit Care and Bonnie, bye", hurried Elena taking her bag with her while Damon stood behind smirking looking at her. But while wearing her shoes she had another thought. And we'll the thought conflicted with her earlier thought. In her happiness, she completely forgot about the catastrophe that had just hit her best friends.

She thought about how hurt they both must be after losing Enzo and Stefan. She felt guilty for being this happy. And then she was in a dilemma. I mean these were her best friends here! They deserved to know about her happiness now since they were there by her side during her sadness. But then they had both also lost the people they loved so much now. She couldn't decide and thus took a moment and the came to a decision. A decision she thought was right as of now considering the circumstances. She decided not to tell them now and so she walked out the door with that decision.

Elena was right in front of Bonnie's house now. She got out of her car and just when she was to ring the doorbell, she noticed the ring on her finger. She took it off and the rang the bell.

Bonnie opened the door and going in was Caroline sitting on the sofa. She hadn't changed,nor had she fed on blood, and she looked terrible. Elena realised just by looking at her that she had been crying. "She didn't stop crying ever since we came back", said Bonnie. " God I remember what terrible state I was after Damon's death until Alaric took away the memories. I can't even imagine what she must be going through right now",replied Elena. They both went and sat on the sofa making Caroline sit in the middle. They didn't talk at all, just sat by Care's side comforting her. After a while Caroline talked and what she said was : "Thank you, I don't know how I would have gone through this without you both. And I'm sorry I have been such a horrible friend to you, Elena. I mean you came back and I didn't down time with you. " Elena said,"Are you kidding? Don't make me slap you! You're an amazing friend Caroline Forbes-Salvatore and I'm lucky to have you. You get that?" Caroline nodded. Care talks about how she thought about turning her humanity off but then Elena reminds her of her twins and how they'd be miserable without their mom. She also reminds her of how strong Caroline is and that she and Bonnie were gonna be by her side through all of this. Cate smiles with a great full look on her face.

Bonnie suddenly asked Elena about Damon and Caroline gave a reaction to this question. And she hadn't reacted to anything in a long time and so Elena decided to talk about Damon. She told them everything except the proposal. The three talked and it was just like old times! And they enjoyed each others company. It was late and Elena said she should leave but Caroline asks her to stay. And so, Elena says with a huge smile, "Let's slumber it then and you both are gonna fill me in on everything! "
