Chapter 9: Broken Bonds

Y/N POV
As I took Amber to a spot, where my family go whenever summers out. She doesn't know what's even going on, I can't tell her. If I do, then she'll want to avoid me. Sigh, is all of this even worth it? What am I even fighting for, is it even worth it?

Amber: Hey Y/N, you alright? You haven't talk since we got here.

Me: Oh! S-Sorry, m-my bad. It just something in my mind right now.

Amber: Hm? What is it?

Me: Eh... don't worry about it. It's not that important.

Amber: If you say so.

I admit, I have an huge urge to tell her about everything. My life, my unmotivated future genocide, my motivation to do.... something. I just wish I could turn back time, when I could save my family. But, I cannot, my powers have their limits. I could go back time, only to the time I arrive here at Remnant. Or can go further, but I can't interact with anything. Wait....what if I-

Amber: So, have you thought of the future?

Me: Sometimes, I do. But, I sometimes I don't want to.

After I've seen the future, I don't want to continue on that path. But, my actions cannot be undone, I must finish what I started. Even if that means I have to kill everybody I knew... or once knew.

I still remember the day where Ozpin didn't save my father. Zalcus Kai, he has many names when I was little. Mistal's Sword, Vale's Protector, Vale's General, and The Keeper Of The Relic. The Kai family has history with war, ever since ancient times. The Kai's faced many threats, either they were killed, enslaved, or be called warriors. But, for my current family, my father, and uncle was with Ozpin on the battlefield.

*FlashBack*

3rd POV
Zalcus, Xalcus, and Ozpin takes over, before Zalcus looks above to see the Grimm.

Zalcus: Xalcus, you take right. Ozpin, you take left, while I take middle. Above all, kill any Grimm you see.

They nodded, before they went to their positions, Xalcus and Ozpin looks at Zalcus. Before, he starts to fire at the Grimm, the two starts to engage as well. Everything is going according to plan, but Zalcus gets stab by a Grimm. Xalcus helps his brother, while Ozpin hesitate to either help them, or do something else. The Beowolves surrounds Xalcus, as he helps Zalcus. Then, a Beowolf bite the neck of Xalcus, leaving Zalcus defend less.

Zalcus: Ozpin! Help me!

He yell at Ozpin to save him, Ozpin turns around, and run away.

Zalcus: Ozpin?!

Zalcus attempts to get up, but the Grimm already attack him. Ozpin looks back, before fleeing away from the battlefield. He says that he sacrificed himself, and he tells Ozpin to go without him.

*A Day Later*

At the Kai's house, the mother of his son, Fain Kai, got a message that Zalcus and Xalcus is dead.

She don't know what to say to her ten year old Y/N, but she knows that it's going to be hard. But, she knows that Zalcus has an strange amulet that she can give to her son. She takes it, and talk to Y/N about his father. He asked about the amulet, she says that the Kai's have been passed down from generations. She leaves Y/N with his fathers amulet, he knows that his father wouldn't die to the Grimm.

Even through, he comes home with scars, bruises, or cuts on him. But, he was like more of a... warrior instead of a huntsman. But, Y/N thinks the amulet is cursed, and he is right. But, the Maidens put a curse to the amulet as soon they hear Y/N having powers.

*FlashBack Ends*

Y/N shed a tear, Amber notices it.

Amber: Y/N? Are you alright?

Y/N: Everything's fine, just admiring this area.

Amber knows he's lying, but plays along.

Amber: It sure is.

Amber places her head on Y/N shoulders, he blushes but hides it.

Amber: I think we spent here long enough, do you have a home where I can live with for a while?

Y/N: There's my family's house, but it's probably abandoned.

Amber: Then, let's go.

Y/N POV

I use my powers to grab her, and teleport to my family's house. She went to my bedroom, and sleeps on my bed. I was about to go to sleep as well, but I need go to the Soul Realm.

I teleport into the Soul Realm to find my new Soulless. I went over to talk with her, she seems scared, alone, and tired. When I walk over to her, her ears went down as she looks at me, very scared. I put my hand out, she reacts fast by closing her eyes, and rise her hands up as if she doesn't want to get hurt.

I petted her ears, she opens her eyes, and looks at me. I know the feeling of being alone, scared, and tired. When I first came to the Soul Realm. I was scared, alone, and tired. I sigh as she looks at me, half confusion, and half scared.

Me: I don't know, what I am doing anymore.

I said in a soft, calm, and easy tone.

Me: You know, back than it was really harsh. Even for my childhood. At school, it's either get forced to be friends, or just be alone until schools over. War...took away many families, money, innocent souls, land... resources. War, famine, disease... murder almost killed us all.

She seems confused, she sits by me. Despite, everything I've done to her.

Me: My father, and uncle was huntsman at Beacon, you know? They know Ozpin, they're not teams, but they helped each other. Until that one day... my father, and uncle. Zalcus, and Xalcus has a mission with Ozpin, but they never return except for Ozpin. He says that they told him to leave while they got it. But, he is a liar, I tell you. He is nothing, but a liar.... he took my family away from me. All I got is my mother, that is it. My Mother, and someone I care about... is the only ones alive who cares about me.... I just wish that somebody would care about me, besides them. What am I talking about? You're just my Soulless, you can't talk, eat, or do anything, but follow my orders....I miss Zalcus.

I felt tears coming down my face, then I can feel the emotion... is it regret? Or sadness?
