Chapter 1.3: The Cafeteria Fiasco

Aaliyah Youngsteward:

Bumaba na ako sa cafeteria. 25 minutes left to spare.

Pagkabukas ko nang pintuan sa cafeteria, lahat sila ay nagsiayos ng upo at tahimik na kumain sa kanilang pwesto.

'Nababaliw na sila...' sabi ko sa sarili ko.

Lahat sila ay tahimik na tumingin sa akin, yung tipong naghihintay sila sa bawat salitang sasabihin ko.

Binigyan ko sila ng tinging nagsasabing: anong gusto niyong sabihin ko? Para kayong mga ulol. =.=

"Good Morning, students." Ay, may tao pala.

Humarap ako sa nagsalita.

Ay, nakakahiya naman para kay Ms. Huxley na nakatayo ako sa harap niya habang kinukuha ang attention(kumbaga) ng kaniyang mga estudyante.

Siya lang naman ang principal ng school na ito, ang University of Abyss.

Joke lang. Pero totoo nung sinabi kong University of Abyss ang pangalan ng school ko. Hindi ko alam kung bakit ganyan ang pangalan ng school namin. Yun lang.

"So, how's the first day of school?" maligalig na sabi ni Ms. Huxley.

The students answered in chorus. Some said, 'exciting', while a few others said, 'happy'.

Despite all the positive outcome of the question, I answered, "Tinatanong pa ba iyan? Siyempre ang sagot diyan 'boring'. Isn't it obvious?"

But I just said it inside of my head. Kahit gaano ko pa gustong sabihin iyon, may pagka-mental freak din ako 'no. I can control my emotions for a long period of time.

"Good to hear that from you. Well, I came here to welcome all of you to another academic year of 2014-2015. As you can see, students, maraming nagbago sa school na ito. The Basketball court is renovated this Summer, as much as the infirmary, valet (for fetching), and restrooms. Pati mga activities for this school year ay nag-iba na rin. But the most spectacular activity will be held in the spring season(February 14, 2015), and that is the Dance of the Abysses. This will be held in the Grand Rauven, the biggest mansion in town. Bawat isa, mapa-freshmen, sophomore, junior o senior 'man ay required na magkaroon ng partner. Ang iba naman ay maa-assigned sa catering, music at designs. Sila ang hindi makakasama sa dance. Ang theme natin for the dance is Fairytale come true. I'm saying this para, as early as now, makapagplano na kayo for this very big event. Your break is extended because I took too much time. That's all. Have a good day." Pagkatapos nun ay lumabas na si Ms. Huxley sa cafeteria.

Naghanap na ako nang mauupuan. Kanina pa ako nakatayo, eh.

Nawalan na ako nang ganang kumain. Uupo nalang ako dito.

Habang nakaupo ako, may kumalabit sa akin.

"Hello, Ayah! Long time no see and talk!" Sabi nang pamilyar na boses.

"Raine?!"
