MoonStoneDancer
I awoke, blinking at the blinding light showering my eyes
I could feel a wet proportion on my body and gave myself a lick
My eyes adjusted to the blinding sunlight and I carefully opened them
I looked around. My mother was lying there carefully nudging me now towards her teats
I followed her direction and warm, flavourful milk rushed into my body.
I licked my muzzle, which were now covered in warm, tasty milk.
My mother suddenly stood and walk away.
"Huh"? I let out a small, weak whinny.
I stumbled and tried to copy her.
I rose on my front legs and dragged my back legs up under my tummy
After a couple of try's I finally got it to just stand up, take one step and fall back down.
I was getting anxious now that my mother was walking further and further away
Frustrated I stumbled on my legs and funnily pranced towards her
Once by my mothers side I took a proper look around
A couple of other mares and dapple foals frolicked in the pasture
And lots of birds and playful animals danced in the sunshine
As I stumbled after my mother a sudden burst of playful energy ripple through her body
A dappled blue roan mare came calmly walking up to my mother
As they greeted each other I noticed a small, shy red roan filly hiding behind the roans hindquarters.
I sniffed cautiously, but no leaving my mothers side until she came out and greeted me
I'm Cherry Twist, said the shy filly. What's your name?
CHAPTER 2
Ah.....Ah.....Ah don't know I admitted! Mother never gave me a name........
I could feel a dark, cold sadness float out of her, she trembled and then replied I will name you!
I look at her with uncertainty, she looked so sad and determined I was scared
She looked me up and down and I shivered. Come she whispered, I followed her to a little lake where she told me to look in.
I gasped, jumping back! Is...is....is that me? I asked with curiosity?
You look so much like a black swan, so I name you Dancer. The slightly older filly said, I will stick with you forever and be your lawful mate, forever and ever we will be together, until my certain fate!
I cocked my head and ran back to my mother for protection. Cherry Twist came up to my mother and said, your black beauty is called, Dancer!
The old mare simply nodded and licked my trembling ear.
I jumped on her back and lay there thinking, what did she mean we stick together?!?
Am I too bad to be on my own? I whimpered.
Cherry twist and cereal slept further away from us. Mother and I slept in a little shelter pen and even though there was nice cool straw to lay on, I was too scared too get down from my mothers warm, protective back.
I woke up still perched up on my mothers back, sunlight streaming down on my coal black coat making me feel the burning heat. I stumbled and fell right on the grass and I instantly tumbled up and stared around. Cereal and Cherry Twist were still asleep, since it was still dark. Mother nickered for me and finally I turned around and nursed the warn, sweet milk.
