"Impossible" Chapter 3

Selena’s P.O.V.

“Thank you.” I smiled to the store lady and turned leaving the shop with a plastic bag in my right hand with hand two litres of milk in it.

I looked at my surroundings and noticed the sky was darkening slightly but it still remained bright out, I looked to my right to the short path I would have to take back through the forest. It was a lot darker now considering the trees where huge and folded over each other blocking out most of the light.

I took in a gulp of air and began walking towards the path at a steady pace while looking up ensuring I didn’t bump into anyone or thing.

I wasn’t even half way through the way when I heard the noises of twigs breaking making me snap my head around. I always did have great hearing thank god for that.

“Hello?” I called out but then mentally scolded myself.

White girls always freaking do that in films then they die.

Remain calm and continuing walking it was probably just a dear; I am in a forest after all. I kept my steady paced walk as I continued down the path until I noticed there was another path leading to the right which lead into the forest. I listened closely and heard the noise of water trickling.

“A stream.” I mumbled to myself while smiling.

I adored nature, I truly did whenever I got the chance back home I would walk down to the stream nearby my house and sit there for hours just thinking about random things. It relaxed and calmed me I guess it was my way to vent without actually saying anything.

I looked up in the air and seen through the branches of the trees that it was still bright out, I looked back down to the path and began debating when I should go take a look or continue walking home.

Firstly there is nothing good about a seventeen year old girl walking deeper into a forest alone whilst night began to fall just to sit by a stream plus dad will also worry if I’m out to long. Then again I could walk down and have a quick look and if the stream is further down I could come back another day preferably early and possibly even bring Hope along with me.

I weighed my options in my head then shook my head and making my decision.

“Sod it.” I said out loud while taking the right path and walking towards the noise of the water which I assumed to be a stream.

After about one minute of walking down the path I came in contact with a beautiful stream that ran through the woods, the noise of it was so tranquil it relaxed me instantly as I took in a nice deep breath and smiled, I found a large tree stump beside the stream that I sat on and just enjoyed the peace.

“You’re Selena right?” A male voice spoke which made me jump from the stump and almost out of my skin.

How in god’s name did I not hear him walk up on me, I must have zoned out while enjoying the peace and noise of the stream. I looked up and seen a familiar face, he was that boy that hung around with Justin.

Ryan I think his name was.

“Y-Y-Yeah.” I stuttered while taking a few steps backwards.

He sniffed the air, he actually sniffed the damn air. “Why are you here, all alone?” He asked while looking around and smirking when he focused his eyes back on me.

I don’t know if he was checking to make sure I was alone or if he just wanted to looked around either way he was intimidating me by simply just standing there and looking at me which creeped me out like majorly.
