"Come on Gray! The moving truck is here!!" My mother yelled from the bottom of the staircase.
This is it. Time to go. Time to leave all of my friends behind. Time to leave what I know behind and step into a land completely foreign to me. Time to move all the way across the country so my mom can fulfill her dream of being an OBGYN.

It didn't seem to bad at first; ya know, moving to LA. I mean who wouldn't want to live in the city of dreams??? But now that it comes down to it and it's time to officially say goodbye, I'm thinking it wasn't such a good idea to go. But who am I kidding, I don't have a choice. I'm only 17. My mom would NEVER let me stay here in good ol Dallas.

OH DALLAS! How I'll miss you. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. THE BEST CITY EVER. I'll miss the southern food, the state fair, six flags, floating the river, boating on the lake, and much more. I think out of all the things I'll miss, it would have to be my friends. Keisha and MaKayla. My best friends since pre-k. We have never left each others side..... until now. I don't think I can quite fathom the idea of being so far from them. They have helped me through my depression and anxiety. They have never judged me and I've always felt
Safe around them. Let's just hope I can find somebody to help me with all the things K and M can't do anymore. I already said goodbye to them yesterday and it just doesn't feel real. I can't believe I won't get to see them everyday. I won't have anybody to tell all my problems too, well unless I actually make friends at this new school. Fingers crossed that goes as well.

Despite everything I just said, I'm gonna try to keep myself positive about this situation. Maybe this will be good for me; a FRESH START.

Hopefully when we get to LA I can find a new group of friends that kept me balanced like my buddies in Dallas.

"GRAYSON!!!!!! Get your ass down here before I have to come up there and beat you with my shoe!" My mom was furious by now.
I wonder how long I was in my own thoughts?

Oops, I quickly came back to reality and grabbed my suitcase. Once I took a final look at my huge grey room, I headed down the hallway and to the bottom of the stairs.

"Finally! I thought I would have to send a search and rescue team up there to bring you down. Let's go baby! Time for a FRESH START" my mom cheerfully gleamed as she opened the front door. My mom is a petite white woman with brown hair and crystal blue eyes. She's so strong willed and just a great person all around. She took care of me all by her self from the start.

See, once my dad figured out my mom was pregnant, he took off and hasn't been seen since. All I know is that he was a very tall black man who took after Kobe Bryant... at least that's what my mom says. I would of loved to have a father, but my mom played the father role just fine.
