The sound of soft singing drifted through the air, filling the room with a melodic tune as I sipped on a mug of hot chocolate. The source of this beautiful harmony walked in the room, the song dying down as she came closer and sat down beside me.
"Good morning, sunshine," She said, wrapping her arms around me. "How's my stunning girlfriend today?"
"Couldn't be better," I said, lifting my hand up to hold hers. "And what about you?"
"It would be criminal for me to be upset on this day." She said.
I snuggled into her and let my head rest against her shoulder. "Happy anniversary." I said, squeezing her hand.
"Happy anniversary," she said "And by the way, I have a surprise for you so I'd love it if we could start heading out soon."
"Sounds exciting, I'll be ready in a minute I just need to get some things."
"Do you need any help?"
"It's fine, I wouldn't want to spoil your present." I said with a smile.
I felt her kiss my head before she said, "Alright then, I'll let you get your things, call me when you're ready." And walked out of the room.
I put my mug down on the bedside table before feeling around for my cane, grabbing it and making my way over to the closet. Inside I found the little cardboard box I kept my old clothes in and rummaged through it until I pulled out a small black case, I quickly put it in my bag before putting everything back and calling for Robin.
"You ready to go?" She asked, wrapping my hand in hers before I gave her a small nod.
"Lead the way."

Robin and I sat on a blanket in the grass, our backs facing the trees and, what I assumed to be a lake, stretched out in front of us.
"Is this seriously what I think it is?" I said, recognising the faint sound of flowing water in the background and the familiar smell of pine.
"Well, what do you think it is?" She said, taking various things out of the car which, on further inspection, seemed to be a picnic.
"You are such a hopeless romantic," I said "And this is beautifully cliche."
"Thank you, I try." She said, sitting next to me on the blanket. I shook my head in amusement, only she would bring us to the same place we'd had our first date.
"God, I love you." I said with a smile.
"You haven't seen anything yet," She said "Just wait until you see what I have in store for you today."
"I'm not sure whether to be outrageously excited or worried." I said, laughing.
"Don't worry, I know you'll love it." She said.
"If it's from you then I'm sure I will." I said, giving her a quick kiss.
"Shall we eat?" She asked.
"Immediately." I replied with a smile.
After the meal, me and Robin sat together in silence, snuggled up together as we listened to the sound of nature around us. The birds were singing and crickets had started to chirp, telling me that it was getting late. I laced our fingers together and brought up my head to place a soft kiss on her cheek.
"Today's been amazing, I really do love you." I breathed.
"Don't forget, I still have one surprise left for you." She said with a mischievous hint in her voice.
