•"Number 102..." A voice called out numbers...
"Number 052..." Totally random numbers...
"Wake up number 010!"Noise was coming from every side. Male voices calling out numbers at random, and other male and female voices could be heard crying in the background.
A place that to us may look like an enormous white basement looks like hell to some people.
Small walls and no windows. Just a lot of lights. With white colour everywhere you look, you start feeling dizzy and sick after just a few minutes."Number 010!! I don't like repeating myself!!" A short male figure was hovering above Soomi. He had a gun on his back an looked like he shouldn't be messed around with.
"Get up, it's almost your turn!" He screamed at Soomi who was still sitting on the floor after passing out on the middle of the room.Soomi carefully observed her surrounding and realised what situation she was in.
'They caught me??' She gasped and her eyes widened.
"My parents-" "Don't worry about them. You have more important things to do." The male once again spoke to her while grabbing her wrist and pulling her to go with him.He pushed her into a small room. The room was dark and had no lights, unlike the room she was in a moment ago. There was no furniture inside just some kind of machine.
It was placed in the middle of the room with one person controlling it and two guards standing on the sides.
They had cold and serious faces while observing Soomi who was standing still shocked and helpless. She was lost and worried.Up until now, she lived with her parents as an outsider somewhere in Australia. They lived like that ever since all this started. They heard of the districts that are supposed to protect them but Soomi's father didn't believe it. He didn't want his family to depend on those type of "safe houses" or to put all their trust into some strangers.
They were really skilled and no guard could catch them for all these months.
Now, they seemed to have captured Soomi but what about the rest of them?
She had two younger siblings, a sister and a brother. Her brother was one year younger and her sister was only three years old. Her mother cared for each one of them equally and treated them with love despite all the hate going on around them. She was the only person that could always warm them and make them feel like home.
What is left now? Only memories and hope. Hope that they are still alive."This is Number 010." One of the guards in the room said.
A tall man stepped out from behind the enormous machine. His curly dark hair was falling down on his face, just a little bit above his eyes. He had a handsome face with defined features.
If he wasn't part of all this, he would have been one of the high school players."Good evening, 010.." He whispered mischievously at Soomi.
She stayed silent and observed the machine behind him.
"What? Oh, that?" He turned around now facing the gadget. "It won't hurt you... If you behave well."
Shivers ran down the poor girl's spine and she got paler than she usually was."I might let you go without that..." The male once again turned around and faced Soomi. "You seem like you won't make any trouble.." He added and got closer to her. Soomi took a few steps back from him. He kept walking towards the frightened girl with a smirk on his face.
"P- Please... Don't-" He suddenly stopped and stared closely at her.
"Put the tag on her." He told the guard on his right and patted him on his shoulder.
"Oh, and Number 010..." She looked at him, wondering if he should be considered dangerous. "Act like you don't know anything.." He smiled and disappeared behind the machine.
