Dr Arthur was tracing his fingers along a small map of Mount Everest, he'd dreamed of climbing the historic mountain for years and the fact that he got to take his beloved daughter with him made it even better.
He took a sip of his whiskey and wrote down a messy version of the map in his notepad. He sighed and took another swing of the floral alcohol. Although climbing Mount Everest was his dream, his nerves were really getting to him now. He heard his office door cream open and Isabella walked in.
"Hey dad."
She walked over and hugged him tightly
"Hey sweetie." He hid the glass of whiskey with his arm and hoped she wouldn't see it.
"Ooh what's this?" She picked up the map off the table and traced her fingers along it just as her father had just minutes before. "Oh, it's a map of the mountain. I thought you would know that" replied her father, laughing. "You are the researcher dad. Not me." she said giggling. The two walked upstairs to check that they had everything they needed for this exciting adventure.
Two weeks later...
The two stood by their door with their extremely large backpacks weighing them down. Dr Arthur turned to his daughter, "Are you ready?" "The real question is, are you ready dad?" she smirked and closed the door heading towards the car. Dr Arthur was a very wealthy man, he'd booked a private jet to take them over to Nepal and from there had a chauffeur down to the main base camp at the edge of the mountain. Surprisingly, there were a lot more people then they expected. Although in a way, I guess it made them feel more safe. They worked as a team, father and daughter, to set up their six man tent. It was really cold and they were layered in warm clothes. Both to sleep in, and spend the day in. All up the mountains there were different camps where you would set up your tents and stay the night. It was very exciting for the two of them!
It was the first night and they were quite cold even though they wrapped up nice and warm. This wasn't supervising though because it was wayyyy below freezing.
