A week goes by. I have a new cast on my arm (it's red, 'cause that's cool), the bruises don't hurt that bad anymore, and I haven't talked to lance since.
As I am walking to class, I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around to face him.
"Listen," he starts, looking down. "I really... I mean, I miss... you." He looks up at me. "And I'm really sorry for what happened to you."
I sigh. "I miss you too. What do you say we start over?"
He gives me a hint of a smile. "Sounds alright to me."
"Things won't be the same, but at least we can try."
"That's all we can do- just try."
