Waiting with Hannah wasn’t too bad. She was a nice girl, as I had expected and also has only played in stage plays until now. Though in bigger theaters, since she was from a bigger city. We were both used to waiting, so we found ways to spend the time.
After an hour, Mr. Seifert finally came in and took Hannah with him. Sarah told me about she really wanted her character to come from Austin, Texas and be a bit of a cowgirl. Why? No clue, but I thought it was a bit weird. Soon Olivia came back with Brea and told me it was my turn with the rehearsing session.
“So, how long have you been acting?” She asked me on our way back to the set.
“For about 8 years now. Yes, 8 years in November.” I told her.
“That is pretty long. Have you ever been in front of a camera for TV or film?”
I shook my head.
“Well, that doesn’t matter. Acting for a camera is rather similar to acting on a stage; you just have to tone everything down a bit and ignore the fact that there are cameras around you.” Olivia said.
“Doesn’t sound too bad.” I replied.
“And you have to take care, you are on the markers or at least really close to them.” I nodded.
We arrived at the door to the set again and went straight to the bookstore.
“Can we use props?” I asked immediately.
“Sure.” Olivia answered and I took a book from one of the shelves and put it on the counter.
“Okay. You can probably guess what happened before this.”
“Obviously Austin came into the store and probably was a total dork. Then left and that is when our scene starts.” I replied.
“Good. I will come from that table over there, where I think I have been sort of spying on you. You are already standing at the right spot. Should we just do the scene?” Olivia asked and I nodded.
I opened my book, looked over to where Austin would have left, bit my lip smiling and looked down at the book.
“Oh. My. Gosh.” Olivia, no Emma, came from behind bouncing and squealing the last word.
“What?” I looked at her confused.
“Austin Moon just talked to you. You are such a lucky girl.”
“Why?”
“He is an internet sensation!” Olivia/Emma got more and more excited with each of her sentences.
I shook my head lightly. “I’ve never heard of him.”
“What?” Olivia/Emma seemed shocked. “Wait a moment. I’ll show you.” She pulled out her phone and acted as if there was a video of him playing.
“Well he’s good.” I said.
“Good? More like god.” Olivia/Emma said, seemingly having serious problems.
I lifted up an eyebrow. “Sure.” I said with a rather sarcastic undertone, looking down at my book. Olivia/Emma left annoyed. “He was cute though.” I smiled.
That was it.
“Wow, that was amazing for the first try.” Olivia said.
“Well, I don’t know. I’m just not feeling the character. It’s so…boring.” I told her.
“Somehow you’re right. But you did a lot better than Brea at her first try, I did not tell you that.”
“Of course.” I smiled. “But maybe we could change it up a bit. I mean, I’ll talk to Mr. Seifert later about the part.”
