I didn’t quite know, what he meant when he said celebrate. I didn’t get the part. Angel got it. But still I felt like I didn’t lose.

At the hotel, a box lay on my bed with two letters on it. I opened the more official looking one first. It was from Mr. Seifert. He told me how much he had enjoyed watching me act, but that I just wasn’t what they wanted on Disney. He also informed me, that he wanted to see me the next day at Disney studios again, because he had a surprise for me. And that I could stay the rest of the week, the next 3 days.

A smile spread across my face. Firstly because I could stay in this beautiful big city for a bit longer and actually get to see a bit of it. Secondly because of the surprise. I actually hated surprises, because I was extremely impatient, but in this case I was also extremely excited. I knew he and his business partner Mr. Kopelow have been involved in a few other successful Disney shows before. A surprise from such an important person could just mean something incredible. I already saw my face on billboards all over the USA, on covers of magazines round the world, in interviews on famous TV shows…

I shook my head. It wasn’t good to lose ground when you didn’t even know if that was even possible. I took the letter, which had my name in curlicue writing. I opened it, revealing a beautifully written letter from Ross. He invited me to go for dinner with him, then to a fancy cultural event and then dancing. And whatever was in the box, was for me and he hoped I liked it.

I smiled. I never thought he liked it so fancy. Slowly I opened the box to reveal a beautiful deep blue fabric. I took it out to see it was a dress. I put it on and it fit perfectly. It wasn’t too short or too low cut. Just perfect. And I actually found some pretty shoes to wear it with. I tried to not over-use make up and just stayed to the more natural look of mine, but I took a lot of effort into my hair.

It was about seven in the evening, when I went down to the lobby, where Ross said, he’d pick me up. I stood next to the elevators, looking over the whole room. When it was ten past six, I started walking around nervously. Why was he late? Suddenly someone covered my eyes and I heard Ross’ laugh. I turned around, to be surprised by a short kiss.

“Sorry, I’m late”, he said and took my by the hand, walking to the exit with me “but I had to organize something.”

He was dressed rather smart, in a blazer with a tie.

We walked along the pavement, until he suddenly stopped. He led go of my hand and pointed at a black limousine.

“This is ours, at least for our ride to the restaurant.” He smiled and opened the door for me.

I got in and it was very pretty. The seats were out of white leather and the ceiling was dark, with many little lights on it. The windows were darkened and loud music was playing. It was weird, as if I was in a movie or a TV show. Ross sat down next to me, wrapping his arm around my waist.

“Where are we going?” I screamed, so he could hear me over the music.

“It’s a surprise.” He replied, just as loud.

“Don’t you have to go to the party with the others?” I asked him. He just shook his head.

“You’re way more important than that.”

I smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek. On our way to…wherever, we sang along to the songs and moved to the rhythm on the music. It was a lot of fun.

And then the limousine stopped. Ross opened the door and helped me out. We were standing right in front of a crowd of light lanterns. I’ve seen those before, but I didn’t know what they were called. And I’ve always wanted to go there.
