yoongi had shied away from relationships of the romantic kind for months now, and with good reason too: almost all his non platonic relationships had failed. so when park jimin had asked if he'd like to go for coffee next sunday, it was expected by those who knew him that he said no.

it wasn't like jimin wasn't attractive or charming at all; he was, in fact, leagues above many other office workers in that category. he was simply too similar to the rest who used yoongi's position to their own personal advantage, including (but not limited to) using him for money, fame, and/or revenge.

saddest part is that the CEO was only trying to love and be loved.

however, a mutual (and very persistent) friend by the name of hoseok had persuaded yoongi that "jimin is a good person, just give him a chance hyung". so that's how yoongi found himself sat down in a rather comfortable suede seat at a French cafe, drinking coffee and eating small cakes with jimin.

"so hyung- ah, can i call you hyung?" jimin began after taking the first sip of his mocha latte.

"go for it," yoongi replies, picking and pushing his cake around the ceramic plate given to them.

" as I was saying, tell me about yourself hyung. i heard that no one really knows much about you, other than hobi hyung, " jimin smiles up to him. yoongi stops playing with the overly expensive delicacy and stares jimin in the eyes.

only hoseok really knew, but yoongi was rather good at reading characters and people. when asked to reveal his secret, he said "the eyes reveal everything, the window to the soul" in response. why has he been used and tossed to the side so much then? simple, he either tried to ignore the bad in his lover or he believed he could change them for the better.

jimin's eyes are kind of uneven, one almost looking bigger than the other; they beamed subtle happiness at the moment. However, surprise took over and his face was covered in a light shade of pink. As strange as it was, yoongi liked that shade of pink on jimin.

"i'm a daegu boy, born and raised. i play piano and basketball in my spare time, i like comfortable clothes, hoseok is my sad excuse of a best friend, and i have a soft spot for cute things too," yoongi finally gave up. he also hopes jimin didn't notice the glance he gave him when he mentioned cute things.

"cute things like me i hope?" jimin teased while taking a couple bites of his cake, hoping to get a blush onto yoongi's face. but two can play at that game.

"especially cute things like you," yoongi calmly replies, sipping his latte as jimin chokes.

-----

the coffee date went well after all the worrying yoongi (and jimin, but that's a secret) did. They both bonded over food and yoongi's one true love, coffee. yoongi learned more about his co-worker, and he got to see an even softer version of jimin.

they both went their separate ways after calling taxis. the two men even went so far to exchange numbers, not the ones used for work. when yoongi had rather courageously asked, jimin's chubby cheeks turned a raging red.

when yoongi finally say down on his soft bed, he decided to text jimin.

that's how he found himself sitting down to eat a full five course meal for his second date with jimin.
