seen, 19:36"bastard." jaerin muttered under her breath, holding her school bag tightly. she'll have to use it as protection again, since it has been raining a lot in seoul.
"good thing i watched the news this morning, they said it's going to rain like mother nature never had a piss before." the old lady beside her said to the other lady on the next row. they both chuckled at the comment, seemingly amused at the childish but comedic statement. jaerin smiled softly to herself, at least there was a bit of a cheerful mood to lighten things up.
the bus speaker suddenly came to life, stopping all current conversations. "next stop, iljin segway. please make sure you have your umbrellas ready because it's going to be a wet walk!"
the old lady turned around and faced jaerin. "it's 7 pm sweetie, why are you out so late?" jaerin smiled. "i have night classes ma'am." the lady nodded her head understandably and pointed at her umbrella. "do you have one of these? it's raining really hard out there!" she said a bit enthusiastically. jaerin tried to keep a smile on her face and shook her head, which made the lady frown.
"i wish i had a spare, but good luck sweetie." the lady then patted her shoulder sympathetically and turned back around to talk to her new friend. jaerin sighed and sunk into her seat, worrying about her new kanken bag.
"iljin segway, please get off if this is your stop."
the tired girl rose from her seat, getting ready to use her new bag as an umbrella. she hurriedly gave the driver a tip and jumped off the bus, lifting the yellow bag up to her head. suddenly, the sound of an umbrella being opened was heard above the ear-deafening thunder and jaerin was instantly covered by a red and black umbrella. she turned around, curious to see the kind citizen that was willing to help a poor university girl.
time seemed to slow down as jaerin laid her eyes on the stranger. standing before her was a tall, brown haired boy lifting up his umbrella for both of them. he smiled at her warmly, showing off his cute little dimples.
"looks like you were going to be drenched but i'm here." he said and took her kanken bag, slinging it onto his back.
jaerin instinctively reached for her kanken. "that's my-"
"no worries, i'm just being a gentleman." the boy said flirtatiously.
"are you trying to kidnap me or something?" she eyed the tall boy and rose an eyebrow. he shook his head quickly, trying to clear things up. "i'm just helping a cute girl here, that's all." he exclaimed.
"shut up," jaerin huffed, "you're probably a fuckboy." the boy's eyes immediately became saucers and he started to shake his hands in a panicked motion, which made the umbrella move.
"what the fuck bro control yourself!" jaerin scolded as she was hit by the cold water that was resting on top of the umbrella. "woah sorry, i didn't mean to..." he trailed off. jaerin sighed at the boy's sad expression and began to walk, making the boy startled. he started to walk behind her, covering the poor girl in front of him.
"what's your name anyways?" jaerin asked, not looking back at the boy.
"jung yoonoh."
