Jade woke up in a cold sweat. She had seen somebody again, but she didn't know who. Jade trembled and she took a deep breath as she brushed her hair back off of her damp face. The boy was about 15. He had a gun. He killed her. 'But that's none of my business!' She thought as she pulled on her dressing gown. Jade opened the door so a sliver of light illuminated her face like the moon. The icy door handle left her with an unforgettable chill. She crept out of the door.

In the kitchen beer cans littered the table. The floor was a sea of rubbish; mum's boyfriend must have been round again. He always left the house in a state. Jade pulled a bin bag from under the kitchen sink and began to clean up. Why did she have to do it? What on Earth did her mum see in that terrible man? If only she could see him.

Jade quickly showered and dressed in her school uniform. Another day of sitting silently in class. However Jade's day was completely different. She walked in to mentoring unaware that he was there. She had seen him.

"Listen up kids!" Mr Walter shouted over the usual teenage din, "We have a visitor from Amity Secondary! Please give him a warm welcome!" The rest of the class applauded, thankfully ignorant to Jade's mini-meltdown at the back of the modern classroom. The SmartBoard glowed amidst the gloom that had settled around Jade's head. He was the one. Suddenly Jade stood up and screamed. At the time she didn't even know it was her. She just had to get out. She had to get away from him.
