Sometimes when people tell you to stay away from someone it might be better to pay attention to them.
This one event happened a few years ago with my ex-best friend.

"Would you come with me to get food?" I ask Aiden who's on his phone sitting on one of the desks.
"Nah, I'll wait for you," He says without even looking at me. Fine, that means no sharing food with him.
That's the rule, if you want me to share food with you then you better come with me to get it.
"Alright," I say and get out of the empty classroom.
Almost everyday, I eat with my best friend Aiden in the empty classroom, that way we have space and no one bothering us. But according to the school rules, we are not allowed to be inside classrooms during lunch time, but we do it anyway.
Once I get my food, I go back to the classroom where Aiden is still sitting on the same place I left him, but this time three different guys are surrounding him. (I think you could count them as the popular kids since they hang out with the older guys and everyone knows who they are).
I frown and leave my food over one of the desks as I watch whatever was happening there.
"Why the fuck would you do that?" The tallest and the leader Joseph asks Aiden. "Huh?"
"I already told you, it wasn't me- my friends did it," He replies terrified.
"You think I'm stupid?" Joseph lightly slaps Aiden and he shakes his head. "Didn't your mom teach you how to treat a girl?"
Aiden doesn't answer but looks at me, Joseph snaps his fingers on his face.
"Don't look at her, look at me." He hisses and then Joseph glances at me. "Don't involve her on this."
"I'm sorry-" He begs. "I swear I didn't do it,"
The other two boys behind Joseph; Tyler and Mark. Take a step closer to Aiden but Joseph stops them and pushes them back.
"Since your mom couldn't do the job, I guess I'm the one who will teach you how to treat a girl." Joseph says and on that moment he punches Aiden with all his strength on his stomach. I jump out of my place and with shocked eyes look at the scene, were Joseph keeps continuously punching Aiden on the stomach as he is gasping for air.
"Please stop!" I suddenly yell getting in between them. "Stop it, Joseph." I say and he does but not before punching Aiden on more time on his nose.
"I'm sorry for doing this in front of you," Joseph tells me backing off with his friends.
With those last words he gets out of the classroom. Slowly I turn my head to see Aiden crying and gasping for air.
"What the hell did you do now?" I hiss and he glances at me. "Mhm?"
He doesn't answer until he recovers.
"Would you come with me to the nursery?" He asks with his face completely red for crying. "I think I'm going home." He says.
I nod and take the backpack from his shoulder when I see him struggling.

Aiden didn't come back two school for three days, we FaceTimed the next day of the incident and he told me why Joseph and his friends came to eat him up.
Apparently his friends used his account to harass a girl, and he was aware of that, but he didn't stop them. He claims that he never participated on that, but I know he was lying because that wouldn't be the first time that happened.
