I was on my way home from dairy queen. It was really hot today, and I needed something cool and delicious😋. But as I was walking home, I noticed the sky turning grey, and I still had 3 more blocks to go! I started walking faster.
Please don't rain on me, please don't.
I thought to myself. I guess I spoke too soon. It started pouring down on me😑. It was super cold. I mean, who could blame me? I had on a white tank top, hot pink mid thigh shorts, and black sandals. I started running. Bad move because I tripped and my ice cream dropped😒.
"Aw, come on!" I yelled to myself and got up. I'm so stupid for even running with ice cream in my hand. I brushed it off and continued walking home. I just walked really fast instead.

"Miracle, what happened?! You're soaked!" my mami said when I came in the house.😑
"I went for a swim," I said plainly, being sarcastic. I took off my sandals.
"And I thought you went to get ice cream," she said confused, handing me a towel.
"I started running when the rain came down and I fell. Which made my ice cream drop," I shrugged drying myself.
"Wow," she shook her head.
"I know. Where's papa at?" I asked. What I just said kinda gave you a hint of what I'm mixed with. My dad is black. And my mami is black and Mexican. We speak Spanish most of the time.
"He went on a business trip. I thought you knew,"
"Well I know now," I went upstairs to my room. I was mad that he didn't tell me. I took out my pajamas and took a long shower. I put moisturizer in my light brown curly hair when I got out the shower. I dried myself off and put my pajamas on. I watched tv until I fell asleep.

"Good morning ma," I said walking downstairs and to the kitchen.
"Good morning hija," she smiled, "here you go," she said handing me my breakfast.
"Thanks ma," I said and sat down.
"There's this 'End of Summer' party going on today. You wanna go?" she asked.
I shrugged,"No. I don't have any friends to go with. And I'm quite sure people from my school are gonna be there,"
"I'll have Dina go with you, and why would anybody mess with you?" Here we go again, "You're beautiful, kind, and loving. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun,"
"Yeah. Lots of fun getting picked on at a party in front of a lot of people," I mumbled fastly.
"Detenerlo(stop it), I heard that," she said.
"Well can I just stay home? I don't wanna go," I got up and put my dishes in the sink.
"Noo, you haven't done anything fun the whole summer. I want you to have some fun before school starts,"
"Ughh, mami, me estás hacienda enojar ahora mismo! (You're pissing me off right now!)" I yelled going upstairs.
"Aye, watch your mouth!" she yelled from downstairs. I went in my room and slammed my door.
I laid on my stomach and wrote in my diary. Yes, I just said 'diary'. It's basically the only 'friend' I have😔.
Dear Diary,
I hate my life. Fuck it. FML. My mami just made me so mad. Same as papa. They never believe the fact that I have NO FRIENDS. None at all; except for you, of course. It seems you're the only person that understands and listens to me. It's sad they can't believe their own hija. And they always bring up the same reason they don't understand how someone like me gets picked on. But then again, how CAN someone like me get picked on? They have a point there, but they don't ALWAYS have to bring it up. Just wait. One day. One day I'm gonna stand up for myself. I used to love going to school. But everyone there is the reason I hate it now. And I'm also upset that papa went on a business trip and didn't even tell me! And mami is making me go to this 'End of Summer' party tomorrow. Something tells me my bullies are gonna be there. I can feel it. What am I gonna do?
Sincerely,
An Upset Miracle
