jack couldn't help but stare at daniel. he couldn't believe he was so lucky. "like what you see?" daniel playfully  teased, not taking his eyes off the road. "mhm," jack said, heat rising to his cheeks as daniel chuckled.

the ride was spent in silence, peace and happiness thick in the air. awe shone on jack's face as the neared their destination, san antonio. it was their tenth anniversary the two twenty four year olds, daniel promising jack a surprise. making this their best, and jack wondered how, not knowing he was to be proposed to today.

anticipation hummed under daniel's skin, everything had to go right, he even called zach, corbyn, and jonah to ensure that jack loved it. he wanted it to be perfect. so as they pulled into san antonio river walk, fingers entwined. jack stepped into the nearly empty boat, sitting down on a seat.

daniel happily hummed, singing a soft tune. "if the sky falls i'll catch it just to steal you a star," jack giggled at daniel's cheesiness. free was one of the many songs daniel made just to sing to jack and jack loved it; he absolutely adored how daniel would go to great lengths just to make him smile.

"there's light when you walk in the room, there's excitement flowin on you," daniel sang, holding jack close to his chest as the two lovers basked in the cool september air. san antonio was one of their favorite places. it was where they had their first kiss, where daniel asked jack to be his boyfriend, it was also their first date. it held so many memories, daniel just couldn't wait to see the excitement on jack's face when he asked him. if he said yes.

"turn it off, turn it off, turn it off, keep your eyes on me, baby," daniel whispered, his breath tickling jack's ears as the ride progressed. "gave you all the lights you need, yeah," jack continued, singing along to his favorite song that daniel made.

the boat ride was filled with the couple singing, their voices echoing on the nearly empty san antonio river. once it was time to get off, daniel led jack all around the city, showing him everywhere except the place he was going to propose; the bridge of hearts.

"we way up on lonely island, put that ringer up on silent," daniel softy sang, leading jack to their final destination, the bridge of hearts. he kept fidgeting with the lock and box in his pocket. would jack say no? the fear of jack rejecting him hung like a storm over his head. "if it goes off don't you try it, boy i need your undivided,"

daniel inhaled as they stood on the bridge, hundreds of locks hanging on the fence. "jack, today, i wanted to tell you how much i love you. you're so special to me, from the first day we met in the cafeteria. through all the ups and downs, you were there with me," a gasp slipped past jack's lips as daniel got on one knee.

"and i, daniel seavey, would like to ask you to spend the rest of your life with me," jack tackled daniel in a hug, excitement radiating off of him. jack peppered daniel's face in kisses, whispering yes in between each kiss.

joy was evident in the couple as they walked home, hand in hand giggling. jack was more than happy to be spending the rest of his life with daniel until daniel stopped in the middle of the sidewalk. "jack, i forgot to put the lock on the fence,"

jack burst out in laughter. "let's go back, dani," a smile stretching across their faces as the lovestruck couple ran back to bridge to lock the lock and toss the keys into the river.
jack pressing his body against daniel's sneaking one last kiss.

"i love you, dani,"
"i love you too, jack,"
