I woke up this morning with a dog next to me and it scared me more than it should've. I didn't think he would sneeze right on my face to wake me up. The only thing that calmed me down is when he immediately started to lick his snot off of my face.
"Hey boy! Good morning" I smiled and rubbed his ear. He returned with a tail wag and another lick on the face.
I walked into the kitchen Charlie following right behind. I see my parents drinking their usual coffee and reading the newspaper. I wish I liked coffee but it doesn't taste good to me. I grab two granola bars and a banana.
I walk back in my room and turn on the tv. I can't find any reruns of friends so I turn on a similar How I Met Your Mother. I'm not amused. I decide to just turn off the tv.
I hear a knock on the door with a couple of door bell rings. "Phoebe! Someone is at the door for you!" my mother yelled politely. I walk into the room expecting Sam, but its definitely not Sam.
"Katrina?" I ask.
"Hey. Can we talk?" She smiled. I smile back and she steps in to hug me. I laugh at the gesture until I hear her pain-filled sobs. I immediately let go to give her a puzzled look knowing this is going to be a long talk with this red haired girl that I could once tell everything to.
"David broke up with me and he's moving to Oregon." She tried to say without crying but failed miserably.
"Oh." I don't have many words to say. I don't know what to say this has never happened to me. " I'm sorry." I lie.
"No, you're not I was a total jerk to you and you were so nice to me and I don't know if you even want to be my friend again. You were the only person who I could talk to because all of my other friends rejected me because I was a jerk." She sobbed.
I'm not sure what to say. I've wanted to hear her say this for a long long time now. I planned for what I would say, but now that it's happening I forget every word.
"I would love to be your friend again, but we need to start over. I don't know you, you don't know me." I smile.
"Okay. Hi I'm Katrina Lowe, I am in your house even though we are total strangers to greet you.... and maybe rob your house if that's okay with you." She laughs her tears nearly evaporating.
"Hello, robber I am Phoebe Keaton. I am asking why you've come seeking my acquaintance. Here's a pair of earrings you have left here a long while ago." I smile trying my hardest not to laugh.
"Oh I have actually been looking for those. I'll just-" she points at the pair of earrings and slyly sneaks them into her pocket.
We both laugh at how silly this is and are interrupted by Charlie walking in from his well deserved meal.
"Oh my gosh! You didn't get a dog! No way! Come here..." she looks at me for his name.
"Charlie." I force a smile.
"Charlie" She repeats. "I could really use a hug from this gu-" I could tell she noticed his obsolete leg.
"He has some pizazz. He's no different than any other dog." I look at her with rude eyes.
"I know it just surprised me" she tries to recovers.
"Don't insult my dog." I chuckle.
"I'm a robber I don't have any manners." She laughs even harder.
"Okay in all seriousness." I try to stop laughing. "Do you need anything? You know with David?" I'm done laughing now.
"No." she lies. "I'm fine." She repeats her offense. Her tears turn into anger. "He's leaving me to go to a different college. I don't need him!" she sniffles.
"No! You don't need him, you're so much better than him there's a whole town of men that deserve you!" I try to comfort her.
"You know what you're right!" She laughs "You're going to help me find a nice guy that won't try to get in my pants whenever we're alone!" She beams."Please." She added.
"I'm going to invite Sam. Okay?"
"That's fine I need to apologize to him too." she smiles.
....
"What about him?" I point.
"No. Just no." She laughed. "He looks just like Sam except with a mustache."
"Fine." I pout.
"Him?" Sam points at a man with black spiked hair and a lip ring.
"Maybe." Kat flushed. "I'll go talk to him." She smiled as she walked towards him.
"I can't believe we're man hunting in the mall for my old best friend." I look at Sam.
"Old?" he questions.
"Yes, you're my bestest friend in the whole world. Always have been." I smile.
"Bestest boyfriend."He corrects me.
"Boyfriend" I repeat. Then jump on my tiptoes to kiss him on the cheek. There's a 4 inch difference between us. It's totally not fair. He's 6'2". I'm... short, compared to him anyway.
Katrina comes back with a huge smile on her face. "He asked me out! Like on a date we're not officially dating, but he gave me his number!" she beamed. "I guess he didn't really ask me out. Oh well I got his number! She smiled.
"Oh my gosh! We can leave now right?" I ask in too much of a rush.
"Umm yeah. I'll tell you about him in the car." She says her words less excitedly.
"Sam?" I point to his back suggesting a piggy back ride.
"Come here." He smiles.
"Thanks my feet are throbbing!" I smile against his cheek.
"Whatever man." He tries to act annoyed but I can tell he enjoys this.

Dear Dalia,
I woke up this morning to be reunited with Katrina. Her and David broke up. We went to the mall to look for a good guy to fix her up with and she found a guy named Dean. Yeah I know very similar names but Dean is way different than David. Dean has black hair and a lip and eyebrow ring. I didn't notice the eyebrow ring but Kat seemed to be in love with it. He's 20 and he's in a band. Not in a rock band like you would expect but in a jazz group he plays the saxophone. He has "dreamy green eyes" and "luscious pink lips" according to her. Anyway I know it's not Wednesday but I thought I would tell you this and I had some free time. Well a lot of free time.
I'll love you forever and always,
Phoebe Stella Keaton
