Warm morning sunlight poured into my room the next morning, and with a soft sigh I rolled onto my side as my eyes flickered open. For once, I felt rather refreshed.

I sat up slowly and wandered into the bathroom to start getting ready. Like usual, I grabbed my hairbrush and began to brush my long, silky black hair out. I slowly began to brush my hair out, and I flinched and let out a small gasp when I heard a loud snap, quickly followed by the clatter of the hairbrush head hitting the tile floor of our bathroom.

My hairbrush had literally snapped in half.

This left me rather speechless, and I didn't really even know what to do, so I kind of just continued with my usual morning routine. I tied my hair back into a temporary loose and low ponytail so I could quickly wash my face. When I gripped the faucet handle to turn the water in, the entire warm water handle snapped off. My jaw dropped as this happened, and I dropped the broken handle into the sink as I stared down at it in shock.

"Albert!" I called from the bathroom upstairs. "Did Mom leave already?"

"Yes!" He responded, and I quickly began to mutter to myself.

"Ohgodohgodohgodohgodohgod." I muttered as I looked at myself in the mirror. I tugged the ponytail very gently out of my hair and began to raise it into the messiest bun I've ever seen on a person. I didn't even think twice of how bad I looked before I sprinted back into the room, sliding over the hard wood floors on my socks. I slid into my room quickly and practically ripped the sliding door to my closet open. There was a loud BANG as I watched it fly back and hit the wall holding the two doors in place.

I just blinked and stood there, and it took me a minute to return my focus to getting ready without destroying everything. Which, obviously wasn't going well. I snatched a pair of jeans hanging in my closet and my blue Midtown sweatshirt and threw them both on before running around like a madman as I tried to get ready.

I need to wash my face. I need to brush my hair. I need to brush my teeth. And the faucet's broken.

I broke the faucet!!

"Albert!" I shouted as I grabbed my face wash and my toothbrush. I ran out of the bathroom and sprinted down the stairs like a maniac and slid into the living room. I tripped over the carpet and landed on my knees, wincing as I looked up at my little brother.

"...Yes?"

"I need you to turn the faucet on for me down here," I seemed to pant, winded from all of what previously just happened.

"Um. Why?"

"Because. I just need you to," I continued, still out of my breath as I returned to my feet.

"Fine." He sighed and rolled his eyes before getting up from his seat on the couch and walking over to the kitchen sink.

"No, not that one!" I snapped.

"Then which one?!" He snapped back in return.

"The one in the bathroom, duh!"

"Well excuuuuse me." He retorted before turning on his heel and wandering into the bathroom down the short hallway. I followed and soon heard him turning the faucet on in the bathroom. "There you go." He muttered as he shouldered past me. I rolled my eyes and set everything down in the bathroom before cupping my hands under the water. Just as I did, I hissed back in pain and flew backwards.

"Albert, this is too hot!"

"Oh my god! Why can't you just do it yourself?!" He shouted.

"Cause!" I yelled in return.
