...It takes a few moments to get a firm grasp on reality, but once I do, I remember. I'm a girl. I stand up from the cold solitude of my fake classroom, only for it to suddenly dissolve around me.
I have but one question for you, potential master...
Do you believe, in your very heart, that you have the power to defeat a Legendary Soul...?
Can I beat a Legendary Soul...?
I search inside my mind for the slightest clue to what exactly the voice is talking about, when my vision becomes hazy and my chest feels heavy...almost like the information was being downloaded into my body.
Legendary Souls are beings that accomplished great achievements such as saving the world and, after their death, became the object of worship and lore. As a result, they are placed outside the cycle of transmigration of the soul and ascend to an existence closer to a Divine Spirit in order to become a power that protects humanity.
I know just from this information I've recieved, that not all Legendary Souls are good and heroic. There are also villainous and evil Legendary Souls, the world can't exist without good and evil.
That being said...I don't believe I can defeat a Legendary Soul, not on my own. I would most likely need a Legendary Soul in order to defeat one.
Pleased with my answer, the voice lets out a hearty laugh.
I sense a great potential in you, young master, but you have much training...
You see the good in people, no matter how farce or evil their intentions truly are, and are able to perservere...
Your magic circuits are highly unusual for someone as...shall I say bland, as you...but this Legendary Soul should do you well as your servant...
Rejoice...! For not only have you passed the Preliminary Examination, to have a chance at your deepest desires being granted...But you are one of the rare masters summoning a newly born Legendary Soul...
...Newly born? I can only imagine what kind of power I hold now, but I know I'm not the only one. It just leaves me to wonder what my Servant's class is...
All of a sudden, I hear an exasperated sigh behind me.
"I wake up to this kid? What the hell is?! Some sick joke?!"
Spinning around to a voice that goes from calm to extremely angry in a matter of seconds, I find out immediately who my partner is. Her death was shocking, she was asleep when her home was bombed by rebels that hated the peace, they blamed her as part of the cause and she died for it...She has no idea she's dead. She's an expert axe thrower, hailing from District 7-
Johanna Mason.
