(A month after the last chapter)
To say everything went back to normal would be a lie as glass once broken can never be the same. For a month both of them tried to hold on to the shattered pieces of their relationship even when those pieces pierced them making them bleed.
Hana was living the life of constant fear and stress afraid of Jungkook cheating on her again, failing to trust him even when she tried her best whereas Jungkook was living the life of guilt and remorse cause no matter what he would do he knew he could never gain her trust again.
It was around 5 pm when he reached his apartment after finishing college and work for the day.
"I'm home..." he paused when he saw Hana in the living room with a suitcase and bag.
"Are you going on a trip?" He questioned her with a heavy heart.
He felt very uneasy looking at her expression because at the back of his mind he knew what was going to happen. He could tell his world was going to fall apart but he was silently praying god not to make his fear come true.
"I'm leaving Jungkook" His worst nightmare came true in the form of those few words.
"Where?" He spoke in a deadpan tone.
"California, I got hired by one of the best companies there as an intern" She replied with her eyes focused on the ground.
"When are you coming back?" He tried to sound as calm as possible.
She shook her head " I don't know, I might not return "
"No no no!! Hana, please listen to me .."
" I cant do this anymore " Hana interrupted him before he could finish his sentence. Jungkook was about to speak again but she signaled to stop him with her hand.
"I can't do this anymore" She repeated herself looking toward him with teary eyes.
"I'm suffocating here, every time you touch me I can't help but think about how you must have touched the other girls. I feel like I'm dying, I ..I" she gasped for the air as the tears burst forth like water from a dam, spilling down her face.
"I'm sorry" He clasped onto a table for support and then his whole body began to tremble. He knew how she had been feeling all this time, he could sense her drifting away and eventually becoming unreachable.
"You can understand how I'm feeling because you yourself had to go through this when you thought I cheated on you but it's even worse in my case," She paused to swallow the lump in her throat before she continued.
"You cheated me with multiple girls and even accused me of being a cheater myself" Jungkook could see how devasted Hana was, he could clearly see it in her face.
In this one month, she had lost so much weight making her look pale and lifeless. He turned his face away from Hana as he could not bring himself to see her.
"I'm sorry,I need to go" Saying that she took the bag walked passed through Jungkook only to be stopped by him.
"Please!! don't leave me" His words came like a whisper but that was enough to fragment Hana's heart into pieces.
She loved him a lot but there was no way they could have a normal relationship after everything that happened. It was not like she didn't try, she tried to the point that she could no longer carry on but then she knew Jungkook was suffering as much as she was, he was dying in this toxic relationship too so the decision she made was best for both of them.
Hana turned to face Jungkook cupped his face and then took his lips between her lips. She softly kissed him memorizing the feel of his lips, the bliss, and all the other emotions as this would be their last.
