Definition of Love (Camren)

Chapter 1

[Camila's POV]

"...I first met Lauren on the first day of boot-camp. I heard the voice coming from the booth and I was like, oh my god- this is gonna be hard. And then I thought it wasn't a big competition until I saw her walk out and I was like 'Dang it, she can sing.' and then I saw her and I was like 'Dang it, she's pretty too!' and then we just became friends." I said while fixing the web-cam, seeing my face finally in the middle of the google chat conversation. We were in the almost to the end of the conversation and my computer was lagging.

"No, that's how I felt about you, Camz." Lauren said, smiling. I looked at the seven other people on the screen.

"That's so cool, and you guys both live in Miami, Florida right?" The interviewer asked.

"Yup, funny thing is, we live 20 minutes away from each other and we didn't even know until after X-factor ended." Lauren said smiling.

"Well that's all the time we have for today. Thank you girls for hanging out with us." The interviewer said, waving.

"Thank you Harmonizers!" Dinah, Lauren, Ally, Normani, and I exclaimed into the screen, and the chat ended. I got a call from Lauren.

"Hey Camz." She said happily.

"Hey Lolo." I said as I closed my laptop.

"Wanna come downstairs and open the door for me?" She asked with a small laugh.

"What? You're downstairs?" I asked laughing.

"Yup. I had nothing to do." She said as I made my way down the stairs and opened the door for her. I hung up.

"Hiiii!" She exclaimed.

"Heeeey!" I replied. She pulled me into a hug and I saw a bunch of movies in her hand.

"I brought over some movies." She said happily.

"Nice! We can just hang out all day then." I said and then I plopped myself onto the couch.

[Lauren's POV]

We got comfortable on the couch as we picked a movie to watch.

"Camz, you're really cold." I said, pulling her closer.

"You'll keep me warm." She mumbled softly against my shoulder.

"You tired?" I whispered softly. She nodded her head. I reached across and grabbed the blanket from her side and draped it over her shoulders. The side of her mouth perked up into a small smile. She was so cute.

"Camila?" Sofi, Camila's little sister said softly, walking into the living room.

"Hi Sofi, Camila's sleeping." I whispered.

"Oh, hi Lauren." She said happily.

"I was gonna ask Mila if she knew when Mami and Papi were going to be home." She asked, climbing onto the couch next to me.

"Camila told me that your parents are going to be back at 7:30 and that they're out buying groceries." I informed the little one, which was now curled up next to me. I looked at one side, Camila was peacefully resting on my shoulder. On the other side, Sofi was curled up into a ball, eyes glued onto the T.V.

"I'm going back upstairs." Sofi said, as she ran up the stairs.

"Okay." I whispered softly. Suddenly the power shut down. The lights and T.V shut off. Everything was dark.

"Ugh, dang it..." I whispered softly.

"Laur...?" Camz whispered.

"I'm right here." I said, finding her hand and holding it.

"We need to help Sofi." She said, concerned.

"Okay, stay here, I'll go get her." I said, running up the stairs.

"Kaki!" Sofi screamed, seeing my shadow. I went closer and scooped her up in my arms.

"Hey Sofi, it's me, Lauren." I told her as she hugged me.

"Where's Kaki?" She asked.

"Camila is downstairs." I answered.

"I got Sofi." I said as I found my way back to the couch. I put Sofi down onto the couch and sat next to Camz.

"Thanks." Camz said quietly. She was in a fetal posture. Her knees up on her chest, and her arms around her knees. She was scared.

-Flashback-

I was woken by Camila trying to sneakily climb onto my bunk.

"Camz, c'mon the other girls are already sleeping." I said, as she climbed into my bunk.

"Sorry, I was a bit scared." She whispered.

"Of what? We sleep like this everyday since we've started touring." I laughed.

"T-The nightlight broke in my bunk." She replied, a little ashamed.

"I know it sounds stupid, but I have to sleep with a bit of light on." She confessed.

"It's not stupid Camz. C'mon, just sleep with me. You know it's not a problem, just sleep with me whenever you want." I said, scooting closer to her.

"Wait." I said all of a sudden, remembering.

"What?" She asked. I reached over to my bunk light and turned it on.

"There." I said happily, giving her a soft smile.

"You don't have to." She whispered.

"I want to." I simply replied.

"Thanks." She said, returning the smile.

"Goodnight Camz." I said, closing my eyes.

"Goodnight Lolo." She said as I wrapped my arms around her.

-End of flashback-

I scooted closer to Camz.

"It's okay Camz." I whispered into her ears, loud enough for only her to hear. I pulled her closer and wrapped my arms around her body. No words came out except for breathing. She was trying to control her breathing. I could hear her calming down. Finally, her tense body relaxed in my arms.

"It's okay Camz, I'm here." I whispered again.
