He was asked,

"What is it you truly want?"

He said, "To hold her once more."

And love's sorrow sings a saddened tune

as he walks those streets

of memories all echoing

her name,

the song of her imprinted

deep upon his soul,

sweet melody he will

never forget.

Remembering when Eros

stormed through,

waves of passion crashed,

hearts ablaze in the

ever flame, now but an

ember dying...

That fiery longing laps

a grey sky once blue,

beneath the billowy

fog, misty remnants

of an angel's goodbyes.

Now he lies disconsolute

in shadows,

awaiting the break that

grants relief,

eyes searching the sky,

he walks those streets

of memories as one

thousand doves caged

beg release.
