My heart sunk to my knees, I run back to the car as fast as I can I slam on the window, she chucks the cigar. I open the door and rip the box out of her hands.

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!" She starts to cry." Jona. Jona what? Joan h-has cancer" I gasp. I hug her, she crys into my arms. Actually, more like sobs. An wipes her eyes with the tips of her palms. "I can't cry around anyone, I made a promise to myself. I pull her back in the car. I locked both sides, and roll up the Windows, and turn the actual on. I grab her hand. I look straight into her eyes. "Talk to me." She pulls herself together, and starts to open up. "Well, Jona, is a big smoker, and he got mouth cancer, about two years ago." "Then he started using chewing tobacco. Then he got it again. " I picked up the cigar. "This is wrong, your 17." "I know she sighs." "No! you don't know!" "She just sits there playing with her finger nails. "Listen I know your sad about Jona, but the thing is, you said the same thing last month." "I know he got it removed, but the doctors said it could come back." "You have to live life, tomorrow is a complete mystery but if you keep looking at tomorrow, you'll miss out on what's happening right now." "But if you keep smoking, your putting your life on the line, you won't only hurt yourself, but you'll hurt me, you'll hurt Jona." "My intention was never to hurt anybody Jenette." "I know but you are." "Can I at least smoke one more?" "No I say, I don't know how I can trust you anymore." "Today, is the first day of the rest of your life, and let's start fresh."

We go into the mall, and shopped around for awhile. Then we stopped by Starbucks and ordered a venti frap and a salted Carmel cake pop. As we were walking out, we passed the cell phone case cart. Lai grabbed my arm and pulled me to the side. She pointed at the guy working there. "He's a cutie." I observed him. "And...?" "You should get his number!!" "No no no nooo" "Yes yes yes yesss!" "Please oh come on please?!" She pleaded." I thought it over in my mine. "No, I have a date tonight anyway." "I know, but still, just in case?" "No, now I'm going to go buy a dress for the date, and you are not going to do anything." "Kapeish?" "Fineeeeeeee" I walk off, and wander into Francescas and buy a pretty expensive dress, but I loved it, so 5 more hours to go I thought to myself. I walk out of the shop, and joined Lai in the car. I dropped her off at her house, and drove back to my house. When I got in my house, I went up into my room and passed Anthony's room. It was grey, no matter how much sun poured in, it was still grey.
