Chapter 4 - Cold

                                                                       ***Chapter 4 - Cold***

It was a brand new day. Usami left the house, in a rush, as she had overslept. Her brother had a worried look on his face, as he noticed the difference in Usami. She didn't eat her breakfast, and she dazed off, which was not something she usually does.

It has been two days since that day, and of course, Usami has been thrown with cold water balloons. However, Kaito hasn't talked to her since, and has never called her "baka usagi" instead he called her Yukimura, which she isn't quite used to yet. The majority of students respect her, and she has been helped by some. She actually felt quite happy, however, she wished the jerks in her class would stop bullying her. 

"Usami! Wait!" She heard a voice behind her yell. "Wow, you are fast!" It was Momo and Akari behind her. She loved her friends, they stood with her always. She always stood with them too, after all what are friends for?

The three girls have arrived their school. It seemed quite, no water balloons yet. Usami felt suspicious, there was something wrong. They entered the classroom unscathed. Usami turned her head to face Kaito. Kaito was dazing, something he would not normally do. 

"Ok, what's wrong? Are you gonna pull a prank worse than usual?" Usami asked Kaito. Kaito turned his head to face her. The two exchanged stares for a few minutes, Kaito turned his head to face the window. Usami didn't quite expect that. "You didn't answer." She said, he coughed a little. Then faced her, and took out a piece of paper and a pen. He started writing.  He then stopped after a few minutes and gave her the paper. "I don't wanna waste my breath talking with an idiot." Usami was angry, but she took out her pen and wrote, "fine" and gave him them piece of paper.  The teacher entered the classroom, students took out their books.

It was math. Usami thought it was boring, but she was good at it. In fact, she was good at all subjects. The teacher picked her to answer a question, and she answered correctly.  She always did. The teacher then picked Kaito. He was silent. He didn't answer. Suddenly a hand was raised. It was Kaito's friend, Daichi. "Teacher, Kaito has a cold so he won't be able to talk today." "Oh" was all the teacher could say. Kaito has a cold? Was it because of that day? When he fell in the pool?

After the class was English, and then finally P.E. The girls went to the girls' changing room, while the boys went to the boys' changing room.

***Usami's POV***

I finished changing, then I went outside. Momo and Akari went out after a few minutes, then we all headed to the Basket Ball court. Momo left for tennis as she likes tennis. Akari and I stayed at the court. Then the boys arrived, then I thought something was weird. Kaito wasn't with them. The P.E teacher asked them. "Where's Kiyamura?" "He has a cold, so he can't play today."  I heard one of them say " Oh, well hopes he feels better." 

The teacher seprated us as usual. "Yukimura!" She called. I muttered,"yes?" "Go get the attendance sheet from the teachers' room." "Ok" I left. She probably didnt want me to play. She didn't want me to get hurt. I knew that. Even though I told her that I am going to be fine.

I reached the bulding and then went upstairs, that's when I heard a loud thump. The first thought that crossed my mind was that a bunch of boxes or books fell while someone was carrying them. I went up as I was curious. That's when I saw him. He lying on the floor, breathing rapidly.  His face was red. I ran to him, and put my hand on his for-head. He had fever. I didn't know what to do to him.

***Kaito's POV***

I went downstairs. I felt sick, so I wanted to go to the nurse. I felt my head light, and I lost my balance. I fell down the stairs. I was too tired to stand up, that's when I felt someone approaching me. That person lifted my head and put it on her lap. She was a girl. I opened my eyes to find baka usagi. She had a worried look on her face. "Woah, you woke up." She said. "The nurse is coming." She said. She smelt like vanilla. Now that took a look from up close, she is pretty. Wait.. What am I saying?? 

After a few minutes, the nurse arrived. Then I closed my eyes and slept.

***Normal POV***

After school, Usami and her friends left. Kaito returned to his classroom to take his bag and leave. He was better, a lot better than before. After he slept, he found himself in the nurses' office on the bed. 

***Kaito's POV***

*^*Flashback*^*

I woke up, and felt weak. "You got poisoned" The nurse said. "Ah" Is all I could mutter. "Be-careful of what you eat, and don't make your girlfriend worried." She warned. Of course I knew I should be more careful, but wait... what?? Girlfriend?? "What girlfriend?" I asked her. "That girl, Yukimura Usami, she is really pretty. Such a well-mannered girl, she stayed with you until I told her it was fine. You are lucky to find someone like her. Girls these days tend to disrespect people older than them." I was surprised, she thought I was that baka's boyfriend? "She is not my girlfriend, she is just my classmate." She was quite shocked. "Oh, but do you like her?" "Nope" I replied with the most negative voice. "Ah~ Ok, but I think you are quite a good match." She said.

I was surprised she stayed. I stopped thinking when I felt someone in the room. "I know you are there come in" Two boys came in. They looked the same. One was red-headed, the other was blue-headed. "Yooo Kaito!" Both yelled. "Yo." I replied. " "We heard you got poisoned." They said. "Probably from yesterday, but anyways I killed that scumbag." I said. He desereced it after he was about to kill me. "The boss called, and we have a new mission." The first said "I am tired, I can't" I was tired, so I didn't lie. "but we can't do this without you." The second whinnied. " Tell him I can't" "Ok, oh and by the way, we are transferring to this school." The first said. "Eh~? Aww and I enjoyed the quietness of this school, too bad." I whinnied. "Don't be like that Kaito." The first said, "Yeah." 

I walked down, and the two followed me. I felt someone coming our way.  I stopped. "There is something here." The first said. "Oh~ I was waiting for this from yesterday." The second said joyfully. "Let's kick their butts today too." I said, and the two nodded.
