I can barely remember the next week. I was a wreck. My life consisted of food, sleeping, and watching movies all day. I didn't go anywhere, didn't see anyone. I was reminded hourly by my data board about how I should go think about where I would move, which I ignored. My parents were stuffed into the closet. The phone rang 3 times, which I didn't pick up. The mail collected at the foot of the door, sales, bills, and letters from the library about how my books were due. It continued in the same fashion for a month, until my housekeeper came. She froze and looked slowly around the house,at the unwashed dishes, the pile of dirty laundry, the unmade bed. She came to her senses and ran out the door again.
She came back with 3 of her friends, who proceeded to clean up the place while I sat on the couch, watching a chic-flick. Her friends left, leaving a very angry housekeeper and one bored teenager.
"Lakeiya, what is going on here?!?!?" My eyes stayed glued to the screen. "Have you any idea what you are doing? You have school, you know. You must keep up your studies if-"
"Not anymore."
"Excuse me?"
"I don't have school anymore."
"What do you mean, you don't have school? As far as I know you-"
"I was expelled."
"But why?"
"I just was." At this, the housekeeper makes a decision.
"From now on,I'm coming over everyday-"
"What?!"
"-to help you look for a new Sector to live in. I assume you still want to stay in Plot A?" I realized where this conversation was heading and turned my attention back to the movie. She gave up trying to talk to me and says, "I'll try to get you into a Sector close by," and hurries out the door.
