Secrets Kept

Chapter 8

Sophia and the others have been asleep for about an hour now. We're somewhere dark, but my eyes adjust to the darkness. Where are we exactly?

"On a boat."

"Thanks, Patrick." I stay silent thinking about Jake. I left him and I don't know when we're coming back.

"Mia, he's here with us. He was invisible trying to get to you, but Sydney smelled him out." Open my eyes wide I look at Patrick. Jake is right next to him; sound asleep. 

"Oh, Jake. I'm so sorry. Pat, when are we gonna be off this boat?"

"About ten minutes. I can smell the island from here. Don't worry about it. Go back to sleep I got Jake."

"Thanks, Pat."

"Anytime." I smile and close my eyes.

Through the sounds of the oceans and the movement of the boat I hear Patrick, "I'll never leave you, Noah." I ignore what he said and go back to sleep. Maybe he knew someone named Noah.

Minutes later I feel someone grabbing my arm. Guess we're getting off the boat.

"Everyone out now." We walk out and get our wrists tied up.

"Get in the cage." David walks in with Sophia in front of him. I'm right next to Eric with Pat and Jake behind me. Adam and Sam follow along. The man closed the cage and locked it.

The cage is in the back of a van. On our way to the mansion, David was next to Sophia talking about her demon.

I rest my head on Eric's shoulder, "I never thought I would go to jail like this."

"I thought it would be for our spy skills," Sophia said.

I laugh, "The best spy skills around." It became silent until the van stopped.

A guy came out to open the cage, "Welcome to your new home." We walk out of the cage and head to the mansion. They take us down to the dungeon. Cameron and Isaiah were in a cell already.

A guard opened the cell door, pushing us in. Jake fell to the floor. Patrick goes over to him.

"Don't you fucking dare touch him." The guard grabbed me by the collar and throws me to the ground.

"Stay here and don't do anything stupid." With that, he left.

One of the guys come over, "Are you okay?"

"I'll be fine. Jake, are you okay?" He nods his head.

The guy helps me up," I'm Isaiah. That guy's Cameron."

"Mia and that's Jake."

Jake runs over to me and gives me a hug. "Hey, dude, what's up?"

"He's in a cell. What do you think?" Sophia said, sarcastically.

"Come on, Sophia. I haven't seen you for days and this is how you treat me?"

"I treat you however I want." 

I sit down and put Jake on my lap. "You guys can have your reunion while I figure out how to get out of here."

David walks over to me, "I agree with her. It's not safe especially if we have Jake. They could try and hurt him or he could get sick."

"I'm not letting anything happen to my brother."

"He'll be okay. He has you and us. Now let's have our reunion. I need to meet this girl," Isaiah said.

"Isaiah, Cameron that's Mia. She's my cousin, a year younger than me. She's a nice and funny girl, but don't get on her bad side. As you can tell she's a smart girl." The two nod and go on with their imprisoned lives,
