The coffee burned my tongue, but I payed no attention to it as the words flowed from my pen onto the crisp, white paper. I quickly checked my watch to realise that time had escaped me. Last time I checked, it was only half past eleven. I quickly shoved my arms into my navy blue pea coat before throwing my messenger bag around my shoulder and stuffing my sketchbook into it. I ran down the stairs before opening the door out of the small cafe I found myself at nearly everyday and entering the cold streets of London.

Since Jamie had a night shift at the club last night, I made sure I shut the door quietly and tiptoed across the living room so I wouldn't wake him while he slept. I carefully set my keys and bag down on the kitchen bench before sneaking down the hall to the bedroom. I slowly opened the door to see Jamie hurrying to pull his jeans up with a girl in the bed beside him.

This is the second time.

I stormed down the hallway, tears pouring down my face, and slammed the apartment door harder than ever before. It should not be expected by me to stay with him after I have caught him in bed with another girl... right? And twice, may I add. But I love him. Well... I think.

I needed to get away from all of this. Usually I would just go to the library and read every sad book I can find until my body will not physically let me cry anymore. But today I decided against that and I made the quite unwise choice to go to the pub down the street, texting Rani on the way to tell her 'I wasn't up to lunch today.'

Once I was up to my fourth shot, I no longer cringed at the stinging feeling at the back of my throat let alone noticed it. The horrible feeling in my heart was slowly fading away as I downed more and more drinks and by six o'clock, I chose to go for a a bit of a walk.

Before I knew where I was heading, I found myself at the park about two streets down from the pub. I sat on the edge of the park seat, squirming as the cold touch of the chair came into contact with my jeans. It was a dazzling view. I smiled slightly as I watched all of the luminescent street lights flicker through the trees. This was easily one of the reasons why I prefered nightime to daytime.

As I started to zone off, I was suddenly pushed to the ground from behind. Suddenly, I felt hands reach down to the buttons on my overcoat and with my hands and feet thrashed onto the ground all I could do was cry out. I only screamed for a short period of time before my mouth was quickly covered. Once the man was already down to my bra, I felt a huge weight lifted off of my body along with loud footsteps quickly hurrying away.

"Are you okay?"

I cautiously opened my eyes and looked down to see that I was only in a bra so I quickly covered myself up with my coat. I looked up to the worried voice as he offered a hand to help me up. I decided against taking the strangers hand and slowly stood up myself.

"This is horrible. Do you want me to call the Police? Your partner? Anything?"

I stayed silent for a while as I continued to dress myself. The man continued to patiently wait for my reply.

"No, I'm fine. Thank you." I mumbled as tears spilled onto my cheeks.

"Are you sure?"

I looked up to see the stranger looking at me with a look of sorrow. This had to be the worst day in history. I caught Jamie sleeping with another woman, I nearly got assaulted, I am literally half drunk and now bawling in front of a total stranger.

"Do you have a place to stay?"

"Not really... Well, no."

"You're welcome to spend the night at my place if you like? Just so you know, I make a pretty mean hot chocolate!"

I warily stepped forward and started walking with this mysterious stranger through the park and out onto the street - a decision I would never make if I was sober.
