//If you're getting impatient, then I apologize for all this unnecessary-to-you background information. Don't worry, the romance-action crap is coming.

14-year-old Melody Spires was sleeping on the cold hard stone floor, shivering. Her black hair was covering her hair, her eyes closed shut, as if she were afraid to open them and realize that this was all real. That she wasn't dreaming. She's really an illegal immigrant joining a foreign country, she's really freezing to death, and she's really feeling like she's about to die.

"W-why the hell is it s-so c-cold?" Melody snapped through chattering teeth. She was glaring at the other side of the room towards Akito, who was just sprawled out on a black couch, tilting his head. He gestured to himself.

"The neighbor's air conditioner is broken." He reminded her. This wasn't the first time she asked this question, and he guessed that it wasn't going to be the last time either. Melody was hugging herself.

"It's like someone put the freezer to Hell." she said, and looked around. But this warehouse was just as empty as their bank accounts. Nothing but a black couch conveniently placed against the wall. Akito's cheeks were rosy, yet his skin was pale, as if she were looking at the moon blushing. He didn't seem faltered by the cold, which made Melody hate him even more at the moment.

Akito put out his hands. "I offered you to cuddle me for warmth."

"And I denied it. I c-can do this o-on my o-own." She whispered. Akito rolled his eyes.

"God you're so stubborn."

"I refuse to g-go to anybody f-for h-help." She slowly lifted her head up to set her gaze. "I'm not a low life."

"No matter how you look at it, you are." Akito muttered, and then raised his voice so she could hear him. His voice echoed throughout the warehouse. "Besides, I'm not just anybody." He crossed his arms. "I'm your brother."

Akito and Melody were a lot closer than they thought, and so their bond hardened even further when they both shared their interests in stealing, more or less not dealing with any more pain. They had went through so much together that it made them closer, making them bond at such a personal level that they might as well have been siblings.

Melody scrambled to her feet, rubbing her arms. "Forget it. I'm going out to steal someone's coat."

"You do that." Akito said, and sounded bored. Melody opened the double doors to the warehouse and was facing the alleyways. This alleyway to be specific was absolutely perfect for kidnapping, raping, and stealing from victims. Melody used to help people who were in distress, until it got her in trouble and went through pain.

She can still remember the boy's name to this day. Wuito. The boy with green hair. A.K.A, Greenie.

Melody glared down at the cobblestone floor and violently shoved the thought of him to the furthest part of her mind. The part where she locked it in a chest and put that chest in a fire she imagined that was from Hell. Those memories included those of her father, her mother, and the 33-people killed within the Casino.

She still remembered the email her mother had received from those scientists, but she never did find the money that her mother had gotten in return for Melody.

Her mother should still be in jail. Should still be in behind bars, hopefully wondering where she had gone wrong with her life, starting with her only daughter, Melody. Or maybe her first mistake was marrying her father?

Melody knew that her mother would never learn. It's ironic, actually. An educator in prison who will never learn to not repeat the same mistakes. Melody wore a thin white t-shirt she stole from a woman's bag, shorts she also stole, and running shoes. Socks weren't a necessity anymore. If anything it's a luxury she'll never bother dream of having.
