Keitaro: "Stupid parents! They say I don't have a chance at getting into Tokyo University. Even if I were reincarnated, they think I'd still fail!"
He kicked a pebble down the path, frustration evident on his face.
Keitaro (cont'd): "And what kind of parents kick their own son out of the house? Luckily, Grandma Hinata offered to let me stay at her inn, but there's a catch—I have to manage the place for her. 'That's easy enough,' I thought... until she mentioned the inn has been turned into an all-girls dorm."
Keitaro: "What the—?!"
He stopped in his tracks, the realization sinking in.
Keitaro (cont'd): "How am I supposed to manage an all-girls dorm? And who are the tenants?"
His phone buzzed, interrupting his thoughts. A text from Grandma Hinata flashed on the screen: 'Get here fast, and I'll explain everything.'
Keitaro: "So, that's my story. Maybe managing the inn will be easy... and at least I won't have to ride the train if I ever get into Todai. But I wonder what she's doing right now..."
He looked up at the sky wistfully.
Keitaro (cont'd): "I wish I knew her name... the only girl who ever talked to me—my childhood sweetheart. She's the reason I'm so determined to get into Todai, no matter what my parents say."
Narrator: After a few more steps, Keitaro finally reached Hinata Inn.
Keitaro: "Finally made it! No wonder no one comes here anymore..."
Grandma Hinata: "What was that you were saying, Keitaro?"
Keitaro: "Wah! Grandma, you scared me!"
Grandma Hinata: "Am I that scary, my dear grandson?"
Keitaro: "No, no! I didn't mean you're scary! I just didn't expect you to be waiting for me outside the inn."
Grandma Hinata: "I'm in a bit of a hurry, child. My flight is about to leave, so I don't have time to explain everything. Your Aunt Haruka will fill you in. Goodbye!"
Keitaro: "Wait, what?! Grandma! You're leaving? What's Aunt Haruka supposed to explain?"
"Boom!"
Haruka Urashima: "How many times have I told you, Keitaro? Don't call me 'Aunt'!"
Keitaro: "Sorry! But did you have to hit me in the head like that? What was it that Grandma said you'd explain?"
Haruka Urashima: "Let's go inside the inn first and get something to eat. I know you're hungry."
Keitaro: "Food? Finally! I haven't eaten since I left home!"
Narrator: We'll leave our hero for now to have his rest. The story will continue in the next chapter.
