"It's not the same thing, Scar" Nya tried to tell her friend in a hushed tone. "What was done to Molly was more of that fucked up shit done by the diabolical Dr.Braxxton by way of Matron Annette."

Nya glanced towards Jessie, certain that he could still hear her, as quiet as she was attending to be, due to his werewolf abilities. From his facial expression, it was impossible to tell.

Rune was closely watching the interaction between the two girls and Jessie as well. He was sensing a bit of almost madness that just wasn't Jessie. Besides Kahn, Jessie was the other unemotional rock of the group. Very controlled and together in his actions and emotions. But Rune could literally feel, taste him falling apart.

He also noticed a strange emotion radiating from Kahn. It was as if Rune had become an empath in the last few hours, he thought to himself. He felt strangely connected to the feelings of those around him. Ever since he had entered the Matron Annette's throne room, he felt as though something deep inside him had changed quite substantially.

Nothing remained exactly as before. People were so much deeper. In every way at all possible. They even in a way appeared more intense.

Like drinking out of a mug a hundred times, then all of a sudden realising it was a light blue, not clear, and that it had tiny air bubbles in the glass. Things became clearer to his eye. And then there was the odd way in which he felt their emotions. All of his senses were able to pick up on them, even in instances they attempted to disguise them.

As for Kahn, he could detect alertness, with an obvious undertone of nervousness, something which he highly doubted he would have picked up on prior to his "inner change" as Kahn was the epitome of stoicism. He could never read any type of emotion off of Kahn before the visit to Annette's lair.

And he was curious to know if it had to do with a strange feeling Rune himself had. An unusual, nearly magical feeling of being watched. Like by a magical mirror or crystal ball, something definitely not of this realm.

He also knew that Kahn knew he was picking up these things and in a moment of obvious eye contact, the large Vampire made sure the rest of the members of their group were distracted by other things, to give Rune a quick nod and slight smile to make clear the fact that he too felt the change. Rune found it very interesting and quite intriguing. All but for the bit of unease he could definitely feel emanating off of the huge vampire. That made him uncomfortable. Before Rune would never have even considered anything ruffling the big Vampire's feathers.

Something enormous had happened at Annette's. Unsure of what or why Rune was certain that his life had just taken a major change. One so enormous that everything thus far had been but minor dips in the road! And that was saying a lot.

He knew he must find an opportunity to speak with Kahn alone. He no doubt knew something. Something that Rune had every right to know as well.

Glancing back at the large man, only to find his eyes still focused upon him, Rune felt a bit surprised. Then Kahn mouthed "later" to him and Rune knew that Kahn was interested in having the same conversation.

How many more Alice in Wonderland moments could one day in his life possibly hold? That answer to that question nearly made his heart beat out of his chest!
