Chase Diamond (MatPat):

*A Few Weeks Ago*

I wake up to two familiar voices. "Chase honey? Are you alright?" "Mason? I mean, dad?" I say, holding a strong hand. "Yes son, it's me. Are you feeling any better?" My dad asks. "Can you help me up?" I say, my eyes still closed. "Give me a second, Chase." He pulled the remote out of its pocket, clicked a few buttons, and BOOM, I'm now sitting up. I think I heard a yelp of pain when my dad was operating the bed, but I assumed that it was just my imagination. I rub my eyes, and I can now see. My dad is smiling with my mom on his shoulder sleeping with a baby in her hands. "I have a baby brother?" I say excitedly. He smiles. "Yep. We don't know what to name him though. Have any suggestions?" I thought about it and responded with, "Matthew?" He sighed and glanced at Ms. Ida. She called him over, and dad rested mom's sleeping head on my bed before walking over and talking to Ms. Ida. They whispered something long, but I could only catch a few words. "Steph...Matt......remember......if we name her baby Matthew...will to be better............can blame it on baby.." They both nodded, and I pretended that I didn't hear anything. My dad then smiled. "Ms, Ida and I decided that'll be the perfect name for the baby." He then leaned in closer. "Do you know what the name "Matthew" even means?" I shook my head and waited for a mind-blowing answer. "Me neither." I laughed like a dolphin, which made my dad laugh, which made me laugh even harder and louder. So loud that I woke mom up.

"Matthew?" I hear her say. "Mom!! You're awake!!" My mom seemed dazed. "Mom? I'm your wife, Matt.." I was confused. Before I could ask anything, my dad jumps in. "She's probably having dreams." Then he turned to my drowsy mom. "It's fine, Steph. Chase here isn't your husband though. I am." Even though my dad was saying the truth, my mom kept telling me that I was Matthew Patrick and that I was her husband, even though my name is Chase Diamond, and I'm her son. I kept denying it, but in the back of the head, I knew that my mom wasn't just hallucinating out of tiredness. "We should put her to sleep, don't you think, Chase?" My dad asks, clearly annoyed about the situation. I said nothing because even though he asked me, I knew that my vote didn't matter. "Please Matt, believe me!!" Is the last thing she said before she blacked out. "Mom," I whisper, keeping her close to my chest. "I believe you."
