Chapter 1 - Prologue

~~I miss me. The old me, the happy me, the bright me, the smiling me, the laughing me. The gone me...~~

Boruto is playing game, waiting for his mom to sew his old dusty jacket which full of valuable memories so he wouldn't want to throw it away, also he just learn a lesson, that old stuff ain't so bad, they are cool.

"Here Boruto, your jacket." Hinata said and hand over the jacket to Boruto. "Thanks mom, I'm gonna go to school now, I have special training today" Boruto said with happy face and giggle.
"Please be well Boruto." "Good luck onii-chan!" Hinata and Himawari say farewell.

"Hey old man! Hurry up you're going to be late!" Boruto shout as his dad rushing beside him.
"Let's have a good day, dattebasa!" "Sure things son!" he and Naruto do the bump fist, each go on their way. He still keep his dad smile on his head because whenever he feel sad he will remember it and it makes him feel comfy.

"Let's see I should visit the convenient store to buy a bento box and probably buy some stuff to practice shuriken jutsu as well." Boruto quickly turn right as he run, suddenly, he noticed there is a big group of people up front, like they are waiting for him.

"Hey guys what's u-wahhhh?!" Boruto walk slowly to them but he noticed they are not really friendly, one quickly grab Boruto and knock him to the ground. Boruto's forehead bleed and he grunt in pain.

"I can't believe the Hokage could have a son like you!"
"Yeah! You don't deserve to live here in this village!"
"We don't welcome honorless people like you."
"You are even worse than your father before! At least he becomes a hero!"
"Then what are you?! Hah! Just a cheater in an exam that everyone is watching! Such a shame for our village!"

"What...? Wait I did save my dad, isn't that count?!" Boruto still doesn't understand what is going on, in fact, he don't even care, he got up and wipe the dust off his jacket. "You all done? Can I go now?" He said and try to get over the group. He promised his sensei to be on time this time but it seems like he can't.

"F*cking just die already!"
"Yeah! Everyone! Beat him up so he have some manner later on!"

One by one, punch, kick, slap, even cut, Boruto tried to endure it, he realize what are they really talking about. He regretted for not saying sorry, he will just let them beat him up like that! It's really just his fault for doing such dishonored thing in such important time.

"Next time will be worse, boy!"
"Hah! That look suit yourself!"
"You should've died already!"
"It is not you that save the Hokage! It's the other Kages and Sasuke that save the great Hokage!"

Everyone leave, leaving the kids on the ground, injures everywhere on his small body, some deep cut on his leg, his face. His heart shattered. "What's wrong... I did... Redeemed myself... Ugh..." he passed out.

"Boruto-kun, wake up, Boruto-kun!!" that's Mitsuki, seems like Mitsuki carried Boruto back to his apartment. "Where am I...? Ouch, it's hurt." Boruto checked on his body and moan everytime he moves, got beaten up by a group of villager, what's worse than that?

"You are in my apartment, what happened? Boruto-kun?" Mitsuki ask with a very curious face.
"I don't... Know... The villager, they just become agressive with me and attack me, even after I saved my dad to redeem myself..." Boruto looks so sad, some tears falls out of his eyes.

"Boruto-kun..." Mitsuki understand what happened, in fact, Naruto will be even harder to save if Boruto wasn't there, people just look at the big stage and forgot the important one behind the scene. "Boruto-kun, do you want to go away? From the village, with me...?" Mitsuki grab Boruto hand as he say as slowly as he could.

"What do you mean going away from the village? Of course not! Look, I still have my family here okay? No matter what's wrong with them, they could beat me up if they want, hell even if they wanted me dead, I only my family to live happily, that's all there is." Boruto say it loud and clear, but deep inside, something telling him to go away.
"Though... I will think about that." Boruto whispered.
"You better rest now, I will be in the living room if you need me, don't leave until you recovered okay? I already called Naruto-sama. Don't worry."
"Okay, thank you, Mitsuki." Boruto went to the bathroom to clean his face and place some bandages over his wounds then he goes back to bed to sleep for a while.

~~Accept the real you, Boruto Uzumaki.~~

"Huh?!" Boruto woke up with sweat, he had a nightmare.
"Accept it." In front of him, an illusion of himself.
"The real... me...?" Boruto asked the illusion.
"Yes... The real you..." The illusion speak slowly as it touch Boruto chest, in his heart. Boruto closed his eyes and open it, now the illusion, it's gone.
