"KIERA!" Cat yelled as Kara walked in her office. "Oh, here you are."
"Ms.Grant, good morning!" gasped Kara. "Here's your coffee. "
"Oh Kiera come on, don't you think I made my vocal chords strain just because of my coffee." Cat said, putting her latte on the table. "I've got a meeting now with a very important person. His name is Mike Matthews. He's from Metropolis, you must've heard about him. So now you've got to go down and meet him, I doubt if he can find my office himself."
Kara nodded and exited of the room. Why did Ms. Grant send her to meet such an important person? But it didn't mean so much for her right now. Lift's doors opened and she came out on the first floor.
She heard someone cried her name and Kara turned around to see a handsome tall man in glasses.
"You must be Mike!" Kara smiled, shaking his hand. "Seems like Ms. Grant has already told you my name, so I don't have to introduce myself."
"Right" said Mike. " So, we are heading to Cat Grant's office?"
"Exactly." Kara answered, pressing button on the wall to go up.
As they went up to the floor where Cat worked Kara noticed a metal pen in Mike's hand. As they were approaching Cat's office she watched his pen curving gradually.
"Something's wrong?" Kara asked as her sight fell on his hand again to make sure it was not just her imagination.
"No, I'm totally fine, just a little bit worried" he answered quickly putting the pen in his pocket. "You know, even a man like me would be quite worried about a meeting with the most influential woman at least in the country."
Kara giggled, turning around a corner. They stopped against the entrance.
"Good luck" she smiled.
Mike nodded and walked into the room.
Kara could hardly hear them talking so she decided to get back to her table.
As she sat down in the chair, Kara crossed her legs and her sight fell on Mike. He looked very intelligent in that black suit and glasses.
But Kara was an average 24 year old girl and internally she realized that a man like him would not even look at her. But Mike seemed different — without that god complex all successful businessmen had. It looked like he hadn't been living his whole life like this. The glass doors opened and Mike walked out of Cat's office. Kara heard Cat yelling "Kiera! Help Mr.Matthews to the exit, please."
Kara giggled. Cat spoke politely to her. Kara should've celebrated this.
"Let's go" Kara said, smiling to the guest.
Mike nodded and walked closer. As they went down to the ground floor he turned to her to say goodbye.
"It was nice to meet you" Mike said as he removed a black lock from his forehead. "I'd love to have your number by the way."
Kara stood in stupor for a couple of seconds. Was he really serious?
"Mmm, okay" she muttered taking her business card out of her pocket. "Here you go."
"You should not be so shy" Mike said turning around to the door. "But not I have to go. Goodbye, Kara Danvers."
Kara smiled back and walked towards the lift. Mike Matthews? It seemed like a silly joke, but he looked quite serious. Kara could not even decide if she was supposed to doubt or not.

Kara's door opened and she saw a woman in a suit in the doorway.
"Alex!" she called waving her hand. "I thought you weren't going to stop at my place today."
"I'm full of surprises" Alex mumbled as the walked inside and locked the door. "How was your day?"
"I was going to ask you the same thing" Kara giggled. "Well, no unusual stuff, talking generally. But Ms. Grant had a meeting with a man from Metropolis. Mike Matthews, as far as I know. He seemed quite normal until he asked my phone number."
Alex laughed. Then she looked at Kara and realized she wasn't kidding.
"Wait, really?" Alex asked.
"Absolutely" Kara answered rolling her eyes. "But I'm pretty sure that was for work and stuff because men like his usually don't ask out women like me."
"Why not?" Alex said as she sat on the couch. "I'm sure they do if the woman looks good and has easy personality. Well, sometimes they don't like too open and silly ones but you're not one of them."
"I mean look at him. In comparison to him I'm a little poor girl. He's a CEO, Alex. I'm an assistant at CatCo who's mostly responsible for coffee" Kara replied.
"You really think he cares about your job?" Alex asked giggling.
Kara rolled her eyes and sat on the couch next to Alex.
"I just don't know what should I expect" Kara said. "And I'm better forget about all this for now."
"Right" Alex replied. Her heard her phone ringing and added "Oh, sorry, I gotta go. Call you later."
"Bye" Kara said closing the door after her sister.
Adoptive sister, talking honestly. Danvers adopted Kara when her parents died in a car crash more than ten years ago. Her and Alex were friends before that happened and Eliza and Jeremiah decided to take her to their family. After both girls graduated from college Alex started working as a FBI agent and Kara got assistant's job at CatCo. She thought that being controlled by a successful powerful woman will help her find success one day as well. Kara didn't think success meant being an assistant but she just wanted to watch how to run a business and how to behave in complicated situations. Cat Grant low-key became Kara's role model. And now she's found herself in bed. It was Thursday morning and the sun was shining behind her window.
Kara heard her phone ringing. She picked up her phone and heard man's voice.
"Kara Danvers?"
