The new boy in town

I awoke to the hot sun beaming through my curtains at around 8:30am. The sound of people starting their day on my street. The noisy cars whizzing out of their drives as people hurried to get to work. Luckily for me, it was a Friday which meant I didn't have college for the day. As I started to open my eyes, I yawned making an exaggerating stretch with my entire body. My head went a little dizzy from the fast movements of standing from my bed. Once I was fully up I searched around for a T-shirt, because usually I slept without one on - due to it being June time. My eyes locked on my favourite T-shirt that had a picture of the logo for breaking bad on it.

As I walked out of my bedroom door in just a shirt and some shorts, I heard my mum talking and laughing downstairs in our living room. As I slugged down the stairs the voices got louder. I opened the door to reveal a woman with blonde hair, quite petite and a male, who was just a bit taller than herself.

"Morning angel," my mum approached sarcastically. "This is Liz and Andy, guys this is my daughter Gaby," she introduced. The woman stepped forward and held her hand out.

"Lovely to meet you Gaby, we're your new neighbours!" She chirped. Her smile beamed as I shook her hand and smiled back.

"Lovely to meet you Liz," I replied. Once our handshake broke I turned to her husband, Andy. "Nice to meet you also, I don't always look this bad," I joked holding my hand out for him to shake and he did so, gladly.

"Lovely to meet you," he smiled. As we broke our handshake I heard the doorbell ring and my mum skipped to answer it.

"Hello, you must be Luke?" She said, more of a question if I'm honest. "Come in," She said kindly, her smile beaming like it was the first time she'd met new people. Just as she said so, a tall blonde walked in. His hair perfectly quiffed, his blue eyes searching around the room for what I was guessing were his parents who were next to me. Once he noticed them he nodded and his attention turned to me. The girl with the messy bed head, looking like an extra out of walking dead. I smiled sheepishly.

"Gaby, this is our youngest son, Luke. Luke this is Gaby," Liz said happily. He walked over whilst he played with the black lip ring on the left side of his mouth. Once he was in front of me he held his hand out for me to shake.

"Hey," He said, his eyes locked on my own. I shook his hand and replied with the same word. Once our hand shake broke my mum came back into the room with a tray full of coffees. She placed it on the wooden coffee table, which was quite old if I'm honest.

"Okay Liz, this is yours; one sugar. Andy, this is for you; black and Gaby this is yours as you look like you died and came back to life," she giggled, trying to impress everyone. They laughed along with her, making me feel very uncomfortable. I made a sarcastic smile and her glare nearly froze my entire body. She may only be 5'4 but she was terrifying.

"Thanks love you," I said even more sarcastically, earning a glance from her. "I'm gonna head up for a shower. I have so much to do today," I groaned.

"You have nothing to do today you mean," she replied with the same level of sarcasm. From the corner of my eye I could see the tall blonde staring at me intently.

"Actually, I have to do some art work for college."

"You take acting at college," she said, confusion spread across her face.

"It's not just about doing shows. I have to find materials and shit for costumes," after swearing, without meaning to or even realising, I got a small hit around the head as my mum gave me the worst death stare.

"Maybe you could show Luke around?" Liz asked, a smile still beaming on her face.

"She'd love to! Go get changed G," she demanded. Great. Love showing random people around. Not like I have anxiety or anything but hey, it's fine.

One hour later

"Mum I'm off!" I yelled from my door to the kitchen.

"Okay, have fun!" She retorted. I slipped on my baby pink Nike's and headed out the door. It was quite a warm day, but the breeze was perfect. So I decided on wearing a black denim jumpsuit with a New York baseball styled T-shirt underneath. Topping it off with long white socks and my pink Nike's. I waited outside on my phone for Luke, to my surprise a tall shadow covered the sun that was once in my eyes.

"You ready?" The deep voice making my insides go funny. I was very nervous once I heard his voice. It was quite intimidating yet hot at the same time. Not that I found him attractive at all. I lifted my head up from my phone to look at the 6 foot 3 boy in front of me.

"Sure," I smiled awkwardly. We began walking towards the place I needed to be the most, the charity shop.
