Chapter 4

Today's the day I go to his house. I know what your thinking. He's talking to Avery. You can't mess that up. I'm not going to. I'm going to keep him as a friend. I was waiting for the bus. My bus was late. I looked at the time. At this point I had a better chance of making it to school on time if I walked. It wasn't too far. I began to walk. I wasn't in a hurry. I don't pay attention in first period anyways. I was walking when someone honked the horn. What asshole would honk the horn at some random teenage girl. Probably a perve. I turned around and was about to give the car a finger when I noticed who it was. No freaking way. I had every intention on strictly being biology partners. He stopped the car next to me and said" you're gonna be late." I said"yeah, I know." He replied"get in." I said"no really it's okay, I can walk." He replied"get in the car." I opened up the car door and hopped in. His car smelled really good. Oh god did I really just think that. What's wrong with me. He turned on the radio while I tried not to make eye contact. We arrived at school and I hopped out of the car. Avery seen. She walked up to us. She said"oh, I didn't know you two knew each other." I didn't know how to respond so i let Nathan handle that. He said"yeah we are pretty good friends." I was actually surprised to hear him say that. She said"oh okay, that's cool. We should all hang out sometime." I replied a little too joyful and said"most definitely." Why did I just say that? Today's gonna be a long day. I walked in and had just made it into class when the bell rang. This is my nap time. I woke up to the bell ringing. I walked to class and he was already in his seat. He began to smirk. It eventually turned into a giggle. I asked"what's so funny." He pulled out his phone and took a picture of me. I had sleep lines from my jacket cuff on my forehead. I was a little embarrassed but he didn't make me feel stupid. We laughed together and I noticed he saved the picture. We were working on research for our project when I said"post that anywhere and your dead." He giggled and then I made him pinky promise he wouldn't. He called me childish. I rolled my eyes and said"oh well." Class was over and I had history. I told kaylee about the whole situation. She was actually becoming my bestfriend. She said" wow thats tough. For the record if you want him you should go for it. I'm just saying, your prettier than Avery." I rolled my eyes and said"we both know that isn't true, your just saying that." She said"no I'm for real." I was walking to my next class. Avery sat down next to me. She said "hey." I felt like I was betraying her for some reason. I didn't quite know why. I hadn't kissed him or anything. I was worried she would bring him up but she didn't. Class was over and I knew I had to get home to ready. I wanted to look cute but I know nothing can happen.
