Atticus Rise

Part One: Blackout

As he awoke from such a terrible nightmare he could all but wonder what had happened. He kept seeing his mother die over and over again while some man kept saying that he was next. Then he truly freaked as he said to himself "I missed class!". He quickly got his pants and jacket in skipping his shirt and took off down stairs to find the power had been cut off. He wondered what the hell when he heard someone in the garage. he quickly ran to the kitchen and grabbed the broom holding it like a bat. As he walked in he almost shun but realized it was his father. "Woah what the fuck!" ThSr. said. "Sorry dad didn't mean to almost sweep your face off." Tj remarked. "Naw your good" he said back. then tj said "what's up with the power?". His dad said "I'm not sure, it's city wide though... hey can you get some candela out of the attic?" I said "sure.". As I went to the attic I noticed the calandra on the wall had the 18th as a Sunday and thought... man I coulda still been asleep. I climbed up the ladder and started to search but couldn't find any, yet I found a very resilient box that I seemed to recognize. I took it and went to my room where I broke the lock and opened it. it seemed to have as cards and computer chips from this era... it also ha papers that were maps and phrases that were very peculiar. then my dad walked in looking at me like where's the candles, but then sees the box and begins to look worried. "what is all of this in here?" I ask. "it was your mothers, I never thought you'd believe me if I told you the truth." he replied. "what truth!" I angrily asked. He said "come with me". he took me to the basement where one wall was covered with a tarp and the rest of the basement was filled with junk. he took the tarp of and the wall was plain as grey. then he moved some boxes where a small stone pillar stood with a place for a hand at the center. he said "go ahead and put your hand there... she imprinted you as soon as you were born, cause this is where it happened" I thought why didn't anybody tell me and yet I already knew why. I placed my hand and the wall opened up where a tunnel was that led through a labyrinth to a base of operations. I began to enter it when someone knocked at the front door, I told my dad "wait here"... he began to argue with me but I finally compromised him to just stay with the cave system and to look through the box for any lead on it. as I walked up to the door a boy named Jacob brooks was standing there and I froze because I knew him but I never met him before.
