- "You live in Monaco? I really didn't know!" I created a smile on my face as I saw Max grinning too. "Yes, well that's great, we can meet up sometime!" he suggested whilst running his hand through his hair. "Oh yeah! That'll be fun!" I agreed before grabbing an egg and putting it on my plate. "Daniel lives also there, he can come as well!" Max smirked slightly. "Sure, that's great! But maybe it's better if we talk about that later and just going to eat breakfast now, I'm starving," Max nodded and we headed over to our spots."So, done talking?" Daniel asked and bumped my shoulder softly. "Yeah, I was hungry so we decided to finish our nicely conversation later!" I smiled brightly as I was finally able to tease him back.
I ate some toast and egg before remembering the last words Max said. "Hey Dan, you live in Monaco right?" he looked questioned at me before he nodded. "Yeah I live there, why?" I looked briefly at him. "Because I've also an apartment there!" Daniel furrowed his eyebrows, "you do?" I nodded and took a sip of my tea. "Oh that's cool! We have to meet up sometime!"
His reply made me giggle slightly. "Max suggested the exact same thing," Daniel laughed loudly. "Ah now that's a coincidence!" he winked at me which made me chuckle.
I glared over at Max who was sitting on the other side of the table. His eyes were focused on Lewis who told him something, which made it easier for me to watch him. Daniel started a conversation with James which made sure there was nobody looking at me.
After having breakfast everyone stood up, included Max and I. Our eyes met briefly as Max cleared his throat. "Are you coming upstairs to get your clothes you wore last night?" Max asked softly as he looked over at me. "Sure, I'll get them quickly and leave then," I told him whilst feeling sad, I didn't want to leave so soon.
I didn't want to go away, I didn't want to leave Max behind. But we're living in the same place so we can meet up easily.
I hugged James first, knowing I would already see him tomorrow at work, then I wrapped my arms around Daniel's neck. "We'll meet up soon, promise?" I softly murmured in his ear. "Of course we will, Mel!" he confirmed my words immediately, smiling brightly.
After James and Daniel I told everyone else I was going to leave. They all hugged me and said goodbye.
When I was about to leave Daniel, he asked for my number to keep in touch. He handed me his phone and I put my number in it. "So, goodbye then!" I forced a smile and waved at Daniel.
Max and I stepped into the elevator. "So, I hope you enjoyed everything, did you?" he asked whilst sounding insecure. "I absolutely did! Thank you so much, Max." I looked straight into his blue eyes and felt like drowning in it. "Don't thank me, I had a good time because of you too" I briefly licked my lips as they became dry. "No I have to thank you, for being so helpful when I needed it."
Max smiled weakly at me. "I wished I stayed here a bit longer," he admitted. "It doesn't matter as I'm already in Monaco about a week and we can meet up after your race in Spain," I tried to make him feel better. Max sighed deeply as response and it became quiet between us.
We reached Max's room and I grabbed my clothes together. "You want a drink before you go? I can make you some coffee?" Max asked carefully. "No I'm good, my best friend will literally kill me if I'm not going home now," I said whilst chuckling softly. "Of course, well then.."
We simply stood close to each other without doing too much. I looked up, straight into his eyes. My heart skipped a beat as our faces came a little closer, however before we kissed I turned my head away which created an uncomfortable situation. I sighed deeply and hugged him tight.
