"You think he'll figure it out?" Soap asks as we finish our song.
"He'll figure it out as soon as I forgive you." I mutter.
He looks at me, his sparkling blue eyes pleading. "Please Alex..I know i shouldn't have done that and i still regret it to this day. Please, just put this behind us." He begs.
"How would you like it if I had planned to move to England, and I had known this for MONTHS, but I didn't tell you until six hours before my flight?! How easy would it be to forgive me, could you even do it?"
"Alex.." He begins, not sure what to say. "I know you know that I didn't want to hurt you with my leaving, so I don't understand why you're mad at me."
"You didn't tell me!! You should have told me, but no, you left me here dumbfounded."
"I'm sorry, I really truly am. I should have told you." He looks at me with such pin in his eyes, it's near impossible to not forgive him.
"I forgive you." I mutter, knowing he's won.
"Yes!!" he jumps up and hugs me, and I smile, hugging him back and thinking of old times.
"Aleeeeeex!!!!" Roach bursts into the room, fearing for his life, and breaking my tender moment.
"What?" I ask, irritated.
"When I die, fly up in Venom 1 and spread my ashes over the Bahamas!" He cries, hiding behind me.
"WHERE THE HECK IS HE?!" Ghost says, still in his towel.
'Where is who?" I ask, dropping my bass, causing a distraction and giving Roach some time to move.
"Don't play dumb, woman!!" Ghost says angrily, scanning the room.
"Oohh, Roach, you're looking for Roach." I say, giving a silent apology for what I am about to do to Archer. "I dunno why you'd bother looking for him, Archer's the one who knows where your clothes are."
He gasps and runs off, cursing under his breath.
"Thanks Alex." Gary mutters, standing up. ''Archer may or may not try and kill you now."
I laugh. "No problem Roach. Archer doesn't stand a chance if he tries to kill me."
I head to my dorm to unpack my things, after all my clothes are put neatly away, I climb the top bunk to hang my pictures where I can see them. Most of them are from when I was younger, maybe from when I was eight until I was sixteen. I refused to be in pictures after John left.
I sigh, pushing his heartbreaking goodbye from my mind and continue to hang up pictures. I guess it's a good thing that I never told him that I liked him. I had planned to, but his surprise departure from my life had me thinking, 'If he liked me, he wouldn't have left.' So, years down the road, here we are, he returns and i still hide my feelings for John 'Soap" MacTavish.
________
'Soap' MacTavish's P.o.V
Alex has disappeared off into our dorm. I decide to let her be as go for a walk, contemplating things.
'If I didn't wait until the last minute to tell her, would Alex still be mad at me for leaving? Would things be different now? Might I have a chance to get her to like me? Nah..' I dismiss the thought, if she had liked me in that way, she would have tried to stop me from leaving, and she wouldn't be angry now...
I am snapped out of my thoughts by Ghost STILL in a towel.
"C'mon mate," he pleads, ''Just tell my where my clothes are, and I won't tell the others and I'll owe you big time!! This towel is starting to itch.."
I sigh, figuring he can't turn me down when I ask for the next favor. "Okay, okay, fine, if you tell any of the other members, I won't help you beat Zelda anymore. Got it?"
He nods quickly.
"They are in the attic behind the old games." I whisper.
he darts upstairs and I laugh.
"Hey Ally, what's up?" I say, walking into the dorm. Even though I used the nickname I gave to her years ago, that no one else uses, it takes her a moment to figure out I'm speaking to her.
"Oh, hey Mac." She answers somewhat sadly, she tries to cover it up, but I know she must have been thinking. She pins a picture to the wall and jumps down off the bunk bed.
"What'cha doing?" I ask, hoping to relieve her pain by getting her to either reveal what she was thinking about, or make her forget about it.
"Nothing much, just finished unpacking." She says with a false smile.
I'm not really sure if I should pry, or leave her alone about her unhappiness. I decide to go to plan B and try to get her mind off of it.
"Hey, I just thought of a really good idea.." I say. "I have a place in mind..Do you want to go?" I ask
"You gonna tell me where it is?"
"Nope!" I say slyly.
She's silent for a minute. "Okay. I'll go."
"You won't regret it." I say, going to find Archer and Chemo.
In the halls, I run into a now fully clothed Ghost, who's now wearing his skull mask.
"Where the heck do you think you are taking her?" He asks.
"Somewhere fun." I say, becoming wary of him.
"Why?" He asks, jaw locked.
I become aggravated with his over protectiveness. "Because she needs it." I say, and push passed him.
Walking to the rec room I can hear Alex and Ghost screaming at each other.
"Archer, I'm leaving with Alex for awhile, so keep an eye out, especially for Ghost.." I mutter thinking angrily about Ghost.
"Oooooh!!" Archer teases. "Soap likes Aleeeex!!''
"Shut up before I demote you!" I say and walk back, before he can see my face go red.
"I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK!! YOU ARE NOT MY BOSS!!" Alex yells, putting force on the last five words. I speed up to a jog, and rush into the dorm, without a word, I take Alex's hand and calmly lead her out.
"Don't worry," I say when we get outside, "where we're going, he'll be far from your mind."
She smiles at me, and I smile back, very excited to get where I'm taking her.
