"You like that kid don't you?" Jaebum asked, fifth time this afternoon making Jinyoung roll his eyes
"Hyung, shut up" Jinyoung replied
"How about you mind your business" he said
"You talked about him the whole drive way, I haven't seen you like that since high school" Jinyoung rolled his eyes at the elder's comment,"Yeah, like I was the one who got detention for making out with a girl in the corridor"
"Ya, that was a misunderstanding okay. She literally threw herself on me. I'm not even straight " Jaebum argued
"Yeah right"They stayed silent for a while before Jaebum spoke again.
"He's a good kid, unlike his brother." he said,
"Jinyoung I want you to be happy. It's been years since the -""Hyung please, I don't want to talk about it. Besides you're the last person I want relationship advise from" Jinyoung interrupted
"It's different in my case"
"Whats different? That you're too stubborn to admit that you're wrong?"
"You don't know anything" the elder said bitterly
"You don't either. Have you ever tried to get to know him? Seriously I know him better than you do. Don't you see he was forced to do it too." Jinyoung said
"Just once don't think about what your mother did and give him a chance Jaebum"**********************************************************
Jaebum entered the room, finding Youngjae standing in front of the mirror, hands fixing the fringe in his blonde hair.
"I told you to be ready by 7" Jaebum asked, though it came out with a greater austerity than the elder had intended it to. The younger, turned spontaneously, now facing him."Ah, I'm sorry. Let's go" he responded, smothering the wrinkles that had appeared on his grey sweater
Jaebum wanted to respond to the younger, telling him that he didn't mean to yell but wasn't quite sure what to say. A part of him knew that it wasn't right to just keep subjecting Youngjae for everything that was wrong in his life but he sure was a part of what was wrong.'Give him a chance Jaebum' he recalled Jinyoung's words.
"Uh.."
"What? I said I'm sorry what else do you want? Should I bow down to you?" the blonde snapped at him
"No. I.. Never mind let's go" Jaebum responded awkwardly. They both left for the dinner. The ride was mostly full of awkward silence, lingering heavy between the two. It was always this unsettling awkwardness whenever he was around Jaebum and Youngjae hated it. He hated the the atmosphere that surrounded both of them, making him feel like he'd suffocate around the elder and he hated that. They reached their destination and Youngjae stared dumbfounded at the huge porch as their car slid in.
'people sure are rich. Life's so unfair'
Not to get him wrong, Youngjae didn't have anything against rich people. He just resented the fact that he and his brother had to suffer so much just because he couldn't 'earn enoughThe door was opened by Namjoon who greeted them, letting them both in. Youngjae saw the pink haired male, attempting to calm down a wailing toddler is his arms. Seokjin smiled at him warmly.
"Look Kookie, the guests are here"
The toddler raised his head looking at the intruders in his house."Hey kiddo" Jaebum cooed at him, lightly poking the baby's chubby cheeks at which he received a disappointing whine
"I'm sorry Jaebum, he's been really cranky because of the fever" Seokjin excused, patting the child's back.
'Or maybe he just hates asses. Kids sense people quick right?' Youngjae thought to himself, quietly amused at himself even."Come on, dinner is ready. Joonie can you please set the table without breaking anything?"
"I'll try, no promises though" Namjoon replied, making the pink haired male sigh dramatically, making his husband laugh.
"Here hold him for a while" Seokjin said to Youngjae, handing him the toddler. Youngjae hesitated a little before taking little Jungkook in his arms. Much to his surprise, the boy didn't start wailing as soon as he got in Youngjae's arms, instead he snuggled up to him. Seokjin smiled fondly at his
"Do you like kids Youngjae?"
"Huh?"
"I'm sorry that was totally random. You and Jaebum still got a long way before starting a family. You just got married"
"I.. haven't thought about it yet but yes I really like kids" Youngjae answered,
"Jungkookie likes you too, right baby?" Seokjin cooed at his son who babbled incoherent words reaching his hand our. Seokjin kissed jungkook's cheek.
"Come on let's go have dinner"
They went to the dining room where the table was set.
"Wah Joonie, you didn't break anything. I'm so happy" Seokjin said genuinely amused at the fact that everything was in one piece. All of them sat down at the table, Jungkook nestled in Seokjin's lap because the boy refused to sit in the baby chair and started screaming when he tried to put him in.It was something unexplainable, but Youngjae felt warm at sight. It was probably a stupid but the thought of having a family of his own made his insides tingle. Of course he knew it was the stupidest thing to think now, but if, only if life had given him a choice he would have liked it to be true.
